romans 5:3-4
3 and not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 and patience, experience; and experience, hope:
some tv evangelist will say things like, "when bad things happen to you it is because you are not doing enough good, you must be making mistakes in your walk."
but the word of the lord says we are to glory in tribulations. it's not your fault. first of all do you really think you are powerful enough to make things happen like that?
we wouldn't wake up every morning if it weren't the will of the lord. he makes the sun rise and causes the stars to shine. (now if you are selling drugs and get arrested for it, don't be surprised)
when bad things happen you have to remember the "footprints" story. you can not handle the bad things. through christ, by giving him the reigns of your life, you can get through the hard times. even if the hard times seem continuous: tribulation worketh patience, patience worketh hope. he will carry you.
remember joseph. his brothers sold him as a slave. he was arrested for something he didn't do. you do not know god's plan for you, just be glad that you are his people and he is your god. if that is your relationship with him then nothing else matters.
give glory to the lord that you have life. praise the lord for he is good. sing praises unto his name.
on a side note this verse is the reason my mother always said to be wary of asking the lord for patience. ask and ye shall receive. it was meant to be funny. (my mother's comment not the verse) XD just trying to keep things light.
