25 but if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
26 likewise the spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 and he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of god.
28 and we know that all things work together for good to them that love god, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
29 for whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren
30 moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
31 what shall we then say to these things? if god be for us, who can be against us?
have you ever been so down, you're crying and hurting and you turn to god. you may pray for help but you're not even sure what type of help or how he could help. you feel so lost and alone.
those are the times when the holy spirit knows what you need.
the holy spirit also knows what you need when you think you know what you need.
a note: 8:28 don't forget that the promise that all things work together for good...to them that love god, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
it does not say for those who follow the ways of the world, for those who hate god, for those who say the bible is a lie.
if you want his promises you have to accept him, believe that jesus did die and that he came out of that tomb on the third day. repent from the wrongdoings of your life, avoid evil, cleave unto that which is good, seek the face of the lord. but most importantly believe that jesus is god manifest in the flesh who came to this earth to overcome death for your sins.
thank him for his grace and mercy.
grace= giving us what we don't deserve (eternal life through christ jesus)
mercy= not giving us what we do deserve (death, weeping and gnashing of teeth)
lastly when you are down in the dumps remember that he chose you before he spoke life, the universe and everything as we know it into existence. (genesis 1:1)
and that you are justified by grace through faith and that he is yours because you are his.
