Who is This?
"Now they were more afraid than ever and said to each other, "Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!!"
Jesus has been teaching and this is where they went Jesus is telling stories to the people so they can understand what the kingdom of God is like. It also states in this passage that Jesus explains everything to the disciples. They have seen him heal the sick and the lame, they have seen him cast out demons yet they still are afraid and are asking WHO IS THIS? Makes me wonder if they are even paying attention.
But lets move forward a couple thousand years and it's you and I sitting in church. We see people saved, we see the spirit move in worship. We hear the truth preached. But until it becomes personal to each of us, it is just actions that we see. We may even believe and have surrendered our lives to Jesus. But when you have a personal encounter with God, you come away from it in AWE! No way to explain it other than it's and encounter with the HOLY GOD and it's personal to you. I think this is more of what they were feeling as opposed to not believing in Jesus.
