catholics and mary
matthew 1:16
16 and jacob begat joseph the husband of mary, of whom was born jesus, who is called christ.
this has made me wonder why the catholics pray to mary. it is through joseph's lineage that jesus was chosen to be born of. at least the one that is told more prominently in the bible.
the rosary should be
hail joseph full of grace, the lord be with thee. blessed are thou among men and blessed is the seed of thy loins jesus. holy joseph father of god, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death, amen.
maybe it was because god is already the father of jesus. mary was a woman and is busy worshiping the lord. we are not to worship any other gods or false images. when praying to mary you may as well be praying to yourself, or your neighbor. jesus told us how to pray. our father, who art in heaven. hallowed be thy name...none of it said, hey pray to mary that she might pray for you to me.
well that's all i have to say about that.
