Blinded

Wow, it is amazing how we followers can sometimes miss the truth of God, even when it is staring right in front of our faces.

As I look at these verses, Jesus time has come. At, what is known as the last supper, we see Him talking with His disciples and it is noted that He is deeply troubled.

Why? One reason I believe is because He knows what He is about to go through with as any human being would probably feel if they knew they were going to die in a few hours, this is Jesus, showing His human side, the a=other reason is the one who is going to betray Him is right there with him and the 3rd reason probably was that He knew His disciples wanted to know which one of them was going to betray Him and though He was going to point Judas out, they would not understand!

So John ask the Lord, at the urging of Peter, "Who is it that will betray You Lord?

Jesus response; "The one I dip this piece of bread and give it to."

So our Lord dips the bread in the oil and gives it to Judas and tells him to go quickly and do what you are going to do.

So here Jesus identifies the disciple and look how the others responded.

Yep, A blank look.

Come on, Jesus pointed him out and they missed it? Thinking that Jesus wanted Judas to pay for the food and give some to to poor because he was their treasurer?

But when you think about it, we are no much different. The scene in the passages I picked today shows how blinded we actually can be.

You may disagree, but examine yourself as I am and have. Look at Eve in the Garden how she was blinded.

This is how the devil works, though we see and hear, he enters in and whispers and twist Gods word or blinds are eyes as in the text today and we miss it.

That is why it is so important to be ready and alert at all times. The enemy is looking for ways to distract and blind us in everything.

It is so important not to only read God's word daily, but to study it frame by frame and let it sink in, especially now, not that before was as important as now, but with all the signs around us, as Jesus was facing His last hour before the crucifixion, we are also facing the end times and we can be blinded as the disciples were.

The difference between what Jesus and us, besides being God in the flesh, is He knew the time and the hour, we don't. We only can go by the signs and warning that is visible around us, yet without knowing the truth of Gods word, not a water down version, but the one Jesus taught, we also can be blinded and not see what is happening as the remaining 11 disciples did when Jesus plainly pointed out Judas as the one who would betray Him.

Here is a simple fact, if you really want to know something, ask God! And if He answers you and shows you, then don't be confused, react to it, if He doesn't, answer you than that is fine to because He knows what is best!

When Jesus revealed the one who would betray Him and if the disciples reacted in the way most people probably would by hanging Judas, you get the picture, would that have changed things?

No!

Jesus had a mission to do and no matter what would of happen, the Lord still would went to the cross for us.

The lesson though is to be aware of what the Lord is teaching ans showing us and put it into action in our daily lives and that will prevent us from being blinded to the subtle attacks of the enemy.

The time is coming where more and more false teachers will be spring up, twisting the and watering down the truth of God's word. Will you and I be blinded or will we be able to discern the difference between them?

That is a question we all must be able to answer.

People changes God word to fit them, God never changes His word and all He wants us to know are written in the pages of the bible. You can't water it down, fit to your lifestyle or state that it is out of date, because His word is far ahead of anything we see today.

The earth will pass away one day, but His word will never change!
