GIVE GIVE GIVE & GIVE SOME MORE!!
We've all heard the old adage it's more blessed to give than to receive. Probly even said it to your kids a time or two! But, ... Did you really believe it????
I cannot tell you how many countless times I've knelt at an altar or closed away in a Rommel pleading with God continuously, again & again to give me this or give me that because I needed "this" or "that" so desperately. My heart ached & tears streamed as I petitioned Him again & again!! Often, we don't realize that we go to God with our petitions as if He were some type of "genie" to grant my desires, or as though He were our personal gold filled bank account we simply go to, make our request, receive, & happily go our way. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying we intentionally treat God this way or that we even mean to at all. I am saying that I have gotten so caught up in my "own personal needs" that I don't realize how I sound. Actually, I wonder if God listens to me going on & on and doesn't think to Himself that I am missing "the meat" of life with Him.
You see, the Bible didn't commission me, as a follower of Jesus Christ, to stay on my knees day & night asking God for what I need & wondering why I'm not seeing the power of God move, flowing in my life! HOWEVER, The Bible does commission me, in Matthew 28:18-20, to go into all nations sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ!! It, also, tells us in 1Peter 4:8-9 that we are to show deep love for each other & cheerfully SHARE/GIVE TO THOSE IN NEED!! What am I saying??
God hit me in the head with a sledgehammer & said, look girl, your 'give' is in the wrong place! Get up & GO GIVE!!!! Before you go, let's start right here; GIVE GOD,
ALL YOUR HOPES
ALL YOUR DREAMS
ALL YOUR VISIONS &
ALL YOUR DESIRES
GIVE HIM EVERYTHING YOU ARE!!! & EVERYTHING YOU HOPE TO BE!!
When I give God my all & set out each day to be a blessing to any & all He leads me to, He will be faithful to take care of me.
Satan will do everything he can to talk you out of giving. He will tell you that you have bills to pay, there's not enough now as it is, your kids need clothes, shoes , and food!
Don't let him shift your focus!! Keep your give in the right place. Satan doesn't want you to give because he knows that giving, meeting the needs of others, being a servant & giving of all you have (time, money, talents,....) is the key to the release of God's power & blessing in your own life!
Lord, I give you all that I am. Lead me today & every day to the people & places You would have me to be of service to! Everything I have is Yours, Father & I will give however You tell me too of my time, money, talents,..... Show me daily, Lord Jesus who to give to (encouragement, prayer, a listening ear, compassion, money, food, help cleaning......) & lead me in every way!!
