God causes ALL things to work together for good! It doesn't say "some" things or "a few" things to work together for good for those who love Him! The word "ALL" makes a big difference
What hinders us from embracing what God has for us is the fact that we don't understand who God is and that He has our best interests at heart.
We can embrace who He is and His ways
He speaks through the word, through tribulation, circumstances . Many times, difficult circumstances are what God uses to speak to us and to build our character.
When we go through difficult situations, that's when we should RUN to God NOT away from Him, because He knows our need.
3 things you have to do to embrace God and His purposes:
1. Stop the embrace of other things
We tend to have romantic views of what our lives should look like. To embrace God fully, we have to let go of romantic views or things that are not from God or in the Bible
We can't set our hearts on things that God hasn't promised us.
John 16:33 - we are going to have tribulations but Jesus has overcome the world.
As far as our circumstances and lives here on earth, we are going to face tribulations.
If you have romantic views about things, God's reality is going to be drastic and you are going to have a hard time embracing God's reality.
We want to have God's reality in our lives, we want to embrace Him by embracing what He says. We will get His blessing when we embrace Him. That doesn't mean we won't face difficult times
2. Value the embrace
James 1:17
If you value something we are going to put effort into it. If we value God, we are going to put effort in spending time with Him and aligning our lives with what He says
No variation or shifting shadows: He is always reliable. He is always steadfast. He always works things for our good. When we face difficult circumstances, our first instinct is to blame God. When we believe that He always works things for our good, the nature of our circumstance changes. He loves us and has our best interests at heart. He will turn those bad circumstances around for our good.
James 1:3-4 - counting it all joy! We can count circumstances as good when we know that God will turn it around for good! If we however refuse to embrace those circumstances or are repulsed by some of the ways through which God speaks to us, we will miss out on embracing Him and His ways and purposes. God wants to speak to us in the midst of our circumstances. He wants us to see Him in the midst of our trials, look for my hand in the midst of your circumstance.
Its about positioning our hearts to receive from Him no matter the situation.
3.Commit to the embrace
Hebrews 11:6 - "seek"
To commit to the embrace means continually seeking
Your commitment to embrace determines what you receive from God.
The reward that we get from God is Himself
Are we going to believe that He never leaves us nor forsake us?
