Righteousness and unrighteousness
Underlying these verses is the concept that righteousness or unrighteousness is a choice, that we have a choice to change our ways - turning to do Godly actions or turning away from Godly actions. We have the promise that if we turn away from our sin we shall live. We are encouraged to make ourselves a new heart and a new spirit. I understand this as a challenge to pray for that new heart and new spirit.
"..wherefore turn yourselves and live ye."
