...and you will do well


I notice that at the end of the letter to the Gentiles that it reads "if you keep yourselves from these, you will do well." not " you will be saved" ( at the beginning of the chapter the teaching that bothered Paul and Barnabas was that the Gentiles needed to be circumcised to be saved).
We have to be careful not to mix these up. There is nothing that we can do to earn our salvation, nor keep our salvation...God has done ( justified) and is doing ( sanctified) that.
But God wants us to go further, to experience the abundant life...to do well.
He helps us make choices that will make our life journey more fruitful, that will encourage us to have closer relationship with Him, that will equip us to glorify Him before others.
