WHO ARE YOU???

WHO ARE YOU???

The show CSI starts our with a song..."whooo are you?" If they can't ID you the Crime scene investigators use forensic's to find out...but God doesn't need forensic's to tell who we are. He created the DNA that makes us up!

The Father knows us. And He knows us well. Yet we try and fool Him! Do we really think we are fooling Him? Jacob comes in to his fathers bedside and speaks...

When he came to his father, he said, "My father."
And he answered, "Here I am. Who are you, my son?" (Genesis 27:18 HCSB)

(Who ARE you, really? Are you sincere!
Are you My child?
Are you obeying Me!
Come close to ME! )

Then Isaac said to Jacob, "Please come closer so I can touch you, my son. Are you really my son Esau or not?" (Genesis 27:21 HCSB)

Why does Isaac doubt who it is? Does he know what's going on?

Jacob replied to his father, "I am Esau, your firstborn. I have done as you told me. Please sit up and eat some of my game so that you may bless me." (Genesis 27:19 HCSB)

If he knows he doesn't let on.
He gives him another chance to tell him...

Again he asked, "Are you really my son Esau?"
And he replied, "I am." (Genesis 27:24 HCSB

Jacob receives the blessing. It was suppose to be Esau's, but Esau foolishly gave it away!

And make sure that there isn't any immoral or irreverent person like Esau, who sold his birthright in exchange for one meal. (Hebrews 12:16 HCSB)

Jacob gets blessed because his brother was disrespectful and irreverent to God...Giving away what God had given him!
Apparently being underhanded and deceitful isn't as bad as giving away your birthright. Esau couldn't take back what he'd done! And he was devastated! He cried bitter tears!

For you know that later, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected because he didn't find any opportunity for repentance, though he sought it with tears. (Hebrews 12:17 HCSB)

Isaac finished blessing Jacob. Then, just as Jacob left his father Isaac, Esau came in from hunting. (Genesis 27:30 NCV)

Esau is ready for a blessing!
He goes to his father for the blessing.
His father is confused...

Isaac asked, “Who are you?”
He answered, “I am your son—your firstborn son—Esau.” (Genesis 27:32 NCV)

What IS going on? Who are YOU!

Then Isaac trembled greatly and said, “Then who was it that hunted the animals and brought me food before you came? I ate it, and I blessed him, and it is too late now to take back my blessing.” (Genesis 27:33 NCV)

Isaac gave his blessing away ...
and Esau have his birthright away!
Rebecca gave bad advice away.
Jacob gave his integrity away.

But the blessing has been given! Isaacs word is his word.
Jacob didn't have to stoop to this level...he would have received it one way or another, because if it was His will...nothing would stop it from happening!

Don't we all try to manipulate God at times?
God is God! His WORD is His Word! We can trust HIM!
And really, Him alone!

Does anyone really know anyone in this story? God does! He knows each one, personally! But do they know Him?

And He knows us!
Do WE know Him?

Who are you?
Really!
Because the Father really....really knows!
