How to experience authentic community
Authentic community is experienced when the real you meets real needs.
Devotion - "Be devoted to one another in brotherly love". Be devoted = family love
Humility - "Giving preference to one another." Giving preference = passion for another person's success.
"You can impress from a distance, but you impact by serving people up close and personal."
LaZy- failure to do what needs to be done when it needs to be done.
Be fervent in serving The Lord! Do it for the right reasons, and you'll know your there when you start getting treated as a servent!
Authentic community is so rare and that's why it is so powerful. Love is giving another person what they need the most when they deserve it the least and at a great personal cost. That's how Christ loved us.
Upward focus- "rejoicing in hope, preserving in tribulation, devoted to prayer."
Outward focus- "contributing to the needs of the saints practicing (pursuing) hospitality."
Learn to love people with excellence and extravagance!!
