Faith Demonstrated
In verse 9 Abram demonstrates faith in God by allowing Lot to choose first. Abram knew that Lot would likely choose the fertile land to the east. But he also knew God had promised to make a great nation of his descendants. This is clearly an act of faith and trust on Abram's part. Bottom line: we can trust God to provide all we need as we live in obedience to His call.
