Persecution guaranteed

Matthew 24:9-14
Then they will hand you over for persecution, and they will kill you. You will be hated by all nations because of My name. Then many will take offense, betray one another and hate one another. Many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. Because lawlessness will multiply, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be delivered. This good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed in all the world as a testimony to all nations. And then the end will come.

Jesus guarantees persecution for all those who follow Him and proclaim His Name. These persecutions seem to be greater than the average persecution. Persecution is certain for all who want to truly live a godly life (2 Ti 3:12). Hatred will increase among the believers from their being offended. Then love, which binds us all together, will disappear for many. All must strive to stand together in love and in preaching the gospel so that, as one, endurance to the end may be attained.

If I have never been persecuted in any way then it begs the question "Am I truly living a godly life?" If I am indeed being persecuted then it is at least a piece of evidence that I am living a godly life though many are persecuted but are still not living a godly life. I must also learn not to be easily offended and make sure that hatred for others never enters my life. I must strive to stand firm to the end in the love of GOD. I must also never stop proclaiming the good news of the kingdom to all those around me.

LORD GOD of perfect love there is none like You. All glory and praise be Yours forever. Please forgive me when I am not standing firm in You. Please forgive me when I arrogantly try to stand firm through my own strength and power. Please increase my love for others. I want to love as You love. Please teach me never to hate anyone. May I love what You love and hate what You hate. Please give me strength and endurance to persevere to the end preaching Your gospel to the world. I recognize that I could never do this without You. Please have Your way with me. I surrender to You. All glory be Yours forever in the name of Jesus amen.
