Taking Control
Often times when the things we desire are not granted according to our timing, we want to take control of the situation. Sarai and Abram did this when they devised their own plan to produce a descendant for Abram.
Genesis 16:5 NLT
Then Sarai said to Abram, “This is all your fault! I put my servant into your arms, but now that she’s pregnant she treats me with contempt. The LORD will show who’s wrong—you or me!
What resulted? Conflict between Sarai and Hagar, conflict between Sarai and Abram, and a pointless blame game. And all the while God's will has not been accomplished.
God is more than willing to allow us to take control of our own situations. However, we must live with the results. We must always remember that when we put ourselves in control, we intentionally remove GOD from our situation. The results can be devastating.
