The heartbeat of Hebrews

This passage is split into 2 sections.

The author wants to bring God glory.

1/. God's worth through Jesus. 20.

He was the God of peace. We have already seen this subject throughout Hebrews. God has expressed through this letter that He wanted His people to live at peace with others. The old ways without Jesus had no merit.
Here the author is identifying god as the author of all peace.
Today conflict is an every day thing. Do we struggle with peace? We see only difficulties but we should remember we have the God of peace.
This verse goes on to tell us Jesus is the only way to God. The only way to have the peace we crave.
This work that God has done is eternal. It lasts forever.
Jesus took the wrath of God for my sin on the cross but we are reminded here He is still not in the grave but he was brought back from the dead. His sacrifice was accepted. Our sin has been dealt with if we have put our trust in Him.
We also see here that Jesus is our Lord. Again this has been seen right throughout Hebrews. He is our Lord and saviour. He was obedient to His Father and now He is our Lord.
He is the great shepherd of the sheep. He is the one who will guide us throughout our life. He is the chief shepherd who one day will return.
Jesus the great shepherd will lead you from death to life.

2/. God's work in Christians. 21.

God will equip all Christians with all we need to do His will. He will prepare us for all eventualities. He alone created the world and He alone will equip us to do His will. We can't do it ourselves. We must submit to Him. We need to surrender all to Him. We need to live to please Him.
The goal of our lives should be to give Him all glory for ever and ever.

3/. God's will for Christians. 22 - 25.

We need to pay attention to The Word. This was a letter to a congregation but it is a word for us.
This isn't just random thoughts from the author but it is God's inspired word. God knows what we struggle with. He know the problem sins we have. He knows how we should live but don't.
We need to do more than just read this. We need to take action. God has equipped us. We need to be open to His word.

We need to be a people of prayer. Timothy has been in prison and now been released. Believers were imprisoned quite often for their belief. They had been prayed for by the church and now this man Timothy was released. This would have been a great cause for thankfulness.

As the book ends we see that all God's people everywhere should work together to bring glory to Him. We should serve each other in our Christian walk to bring Him all the praise, all the honour and all the glory.

May God's Grace be with you all.
