The Importance of God's Word
Job said, "... I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food." To Job, the Word of God was more important than his food - than life, itself. That's basically what Job was saying, here; because without food, you can't live for very long.
Religious Priorities
Job had his religious priorities straight. The Word of God needs to be held with higher regard than anything else in this life. After all, it is the Word of God, through Jesus Christ, that gives us eternal life; and there is nothing in this world that cam compare to that.
