Dealing w/forgiveness!

Dealing with forgiveness is a priority!! It's time to write those letters, extending grace.. It's not healthy to keep resentment bottled up. It will "eat you up" inside..

(Matt6:15) But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.

(Eph 4:31-32) Let there be no bitter resentment, anger, and no bad feelings of any kind among you. Be kind and compassionate. Forgive others just Christ has forgiven you.

(Heb 12:15) Be careful that no one is deprived of the grace of God.. that no root of bitterness should begin to grow and make trouble.

Dont be in denial.. forgetting is not forgiving...
(1Jn 2:9) Any one who professes to be in the light and yet hates his brother is still in darkness.

We need to learn to forgive first, then forget, just as Christ does...
(Heb 8:12) "For I will forgive their wickedness & will remember their sins no more."

Leave revenge to God..
(Rom 12:19) "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord.

However, we are instructed not to enjoy being witness to their punishment....
(Prov 24:17) Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles.

Pray for your enemies...
(Mat 5:44-45) love your enemies and pray for your persecutors; only then can you be like children of your heavenly Father. If you love only those who love you, what reward can you expect? Even the heathen do as much. There must be no limit to your goodness, as your heavenly Father's goodness knows no bounds."

I pray people could understand the bondage of unforgiveness is REAL!! Jesus warns us of the consequences of an unforgiving heart.

“In anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.” (matt 18:34)

The king was stirred. He cast the unforgiving servant into prison for his unwillingness to forgive his fellow servant’s debt.

Just as Jesus warned His disciples, we too, CANNOT expect to march through the battlefield of life without being wounded.

Sooner or later we can expect somebody to hurt us, perhaps unintentionally, but often maliciously with intent. Some will lie about us, insult us, slight us, and even work against us. What should we do with all of these insults and offenses? Jesus warns us to forgive them lest we imprison ourselves!!
