Jesus Was There - Pastor Ricky Thomaston

When the passage in Isaiah was written Jesus was there. Although He was there He did not make it about Himself. He made His earthly life about others. Always about others.

Jesus came to serve us. Jesus was a bruised reed that did not break. Jesus was the ember that would not go out. Jesus knew why He came and He accomplished His task. He did not fail.

God doesn't want to destroy you or quench you. He wants to blow the Holy Spirit on the ember thats left of our salvation so we can become a flame to serve Him and others as He requires. He wants you to grow where you are.

Jesus can relate to you. He bore the same sadness, grief and despair as us. He wasn't good looking. He did not want us drawn to Him that way.

Why do we continue to labor for those burdens He has already carried for us? He left us peace, not the worlds peace, His peace. You can't earn the love of Jesus. You already have it given to you as a gift. The greatest gift ever given.

Jesus did all that He did knowingly, purposefully. The Father offered His innocent Son to bear this sins of all humanity. Jesus followed His Father's will exactly. This I cannot fathom. How do you give up your child to humiliation, torture and death for those who hate you?

Jesus' soul performed the labor to bring satisfaction to God. Sin and death now reside under His feet. Jesus did all the work and paid all the cost. Jesus said He will justify all who put their trust in Him and call Him King of their life. Accept Him and let Him save you.
