Redeemed to reign

Man was created to reign on the earth. God is the maker, owner and supreme ruler over the heaven and earth. He then created man in His image to rule and reign in the earth under God. That means man was in charge of the earth. Everything was under man's dominion and authority. Adam enjoyed full, total and undisturbed dominion in the earth. Under God Adam was the principal of the earth. What Adam decided was what was. If man said go, the subject had to go. Everything was subject to man's dominion and rulership. The charge God gave to man was to rule or reign in the earth- Genesis 1:26.

Man enjoyed that dominion until sin stepped in. Where man was the head he became the tail. Man lost his position of rulership. In the place he was a boss over sickness, poverty, disease, failure and scarcity he became a slave. He became a slave. He threw away his authority. Where he reigned he became the reigned. Where he was victor he became the victim. The pursuer became pursued. The enemy through sin deceived man and man lost his authority. He no longer reigned in the earth. Instead of being the ruler man became the ruled. The enemy stole the authority God had given unto man. God made man a king in the earth but sin and Satan ensured man was turned to a slave. Slaves don't reign. It is kings that reign.

One dictionary definition of reign is " royal authority". Another definition is to exercise authority. " Royal" authority. Very revealing. Only kings can or should exercise authority. If you are a king you should be exercising authority. Even though man had sinned and lost his place of authority, God did not leave man in that sorry and helpless state. He had a plan to pay to restore man back to his position of rulership. It sounded foolish but it was the perfect plan. He sent His to die for man. God through His only Son Jesus Christ paid the price for our sins with His blood. Through His blood, man was redeemed. We are redeemed to reign or rule again. As it was in the beginning before the fall so it is now after the cross. By the blood of Christ we are redeemed to be king's and priests and we will ( not maybe) reign in the earth. We are not waiting or hoping to reign. We are not waiting to reign in the future or when we die or get to heaven. We will reign now- today, here, now and all the time.

We are again able to fulfill the command given to man at the beginning in Genesis 1:26- to have dominion or rule in the earth. We are kings and priests to reign here in the earth. Sickness, disease, poverty, sin, failure and defeat is not supposed to rule over you.

You are the one in charge. You are the ruler in the earth. Rule. You are God's representative to rule on his behalf. Let nothing rule over you. In Christ even the kingdom of darkness is subject to your rulership and authority. To reign you must understand your true position in Christ. You are redeemed to reign. And reign you will if you understand and determine to reign. Nothing can stop you from succeeding except you permit that thing to stop you.
