God Uses Broken Vessels
God mentions here in Isaiah of having called Israel from the farthest corners of the earth to be his favored. In other words, the people of Israel were not even a nation, they were being taken and sold as slaves by the other mightier kingdoms like that of egypt, Babylon and Persia.
But while Israel was taken to be an insignificant nation, God had them play some of the most important roles in history we know today..
God intentionally picked Israel knowing it is weak so that his power would be evident and the entire world would come to acknowledge and serve him as the only God.
Some of us can identify with this passage, especially knowing that God chose us, while we were broken, having much baggage and even from the most humbling backgrounds. Such is the love only a Father would have.
And after God chose us, he decorated us with amazing talents, gifts, ideas, character etc. so that all the world may look in amazement and know indeed that only God was capable of such a feat.
We should thus take it upon ourselves to represent God's kingdom to the best of our ability, for God, as he mentions in Isaiah 42, has the desire for all mankind to come to know him. And the only way we can win over these people is by showing what God has done in our lives.
Wherever our placements are, that is our platform for the Gospel. Go Ye brethren
