II Cor 7:10 Sorrow leading to repentance

Paul instructs us on the way we should be sorrowful. Godly sorrow leads to repentance while worldly sorrow leads to death. When we regret and become sorrowful is it because we sinned against God and disregarded His sacrifice and His love? Or, is it because we are disappointed in ourselves because we didn't make the right decision or did something that is less than ourselves. Does your sorrow lead to repentance or does it just less you to feel bad about yourself?

As a Christian, you're heart should be on Christ, more weight on His sacrifice than your sin. For some people, even in their sorrow, they can only see themselves, their pride, their regret which leads to death in your soul. It leads some to actually take their lives like Judas. Even in our sorrow, we need to examine or hearts. Are we just feeling sorry for ourselves or are we sorry for our sins? If it doesn't lead to repentance, your sorrow itself might less you to sin.
