Bitterness
The sin of bitterness helped drive the nails into the hands and feet of christ. It beat him till he was full of sores and torn flesh. DO WE DESERVE TO BE FORGIVEN? Truly we do not, yet He forgives us anyway.
Can't you, for the love of Christ...forgive someone who hurt you? Can't you, for the love of Christ....give the matter over to the Lord? Even someone who continues to hurt or offend you and who is not deserving of forgiveness...?
Give someone (and more importantly, yourself) the gift of forgiveness. Remember, it's impossible to GROW in Christ if you are harboring bitterness in your heart. Ask the Lord help humble you go before ur offender releasing him/her from the debt owed to u!
Bitterness can also be directed against ourselves. Many times we forgive others but have trouble forgiving ourselves... even though God has forgiven us.. We can carry the load, saying, "I deserved it, but I'm strong enough to take it" and "I'll just carry this thing and deal with it myself"
Self-centered pride latches to our hearts as we might refuse the forgivenness of God and others. This can cause us to live in self-pity. Saying to oursleves ..."I deserve it".. "God's trying to punish me".. "I shouldn't have done this or that"
The Bible says, "Watch out for such bitterness!" (Heb.12:15.)Sunday at 10:49pm via mobile · Like · 1
