We are a work in progress

The most interesting thing I have learned and what God helped me realize in the book of Job is not necessarily that God continually tests the righteous, or how bad the furnace of affliction scorches. What has ministered to me from this passage is that Job, despite the praise God gave him and his saintly reputation, was not yet "there" yet. Job still had plenty to learn about God and stuff to correct in himself -- lessons which even he himself did not realize he needed to learn. Some of us Christians are at some phase in life where the trials of life are hitting us with their best shots and we cannot understand what it could possibly mean considering we are born-again, spirit-filled, tongue-talking, scripture-quoting Christians. But God himself knows whats wrong with us and through some of these trials God allows in our lives, we come to realize how much we still had some messed-up stuff in our lives. We never reach the mark. We are a work in progress and these trials reveal these flaws. And when they do, we emerge stronger, happier and far more blessed.

Lastly, notice how God praises his servant Job way in chapter 1 even before these trials. Paraphrasing: Job is an awesome guy! he is faithful and obeys My commands. Now, God knew that Job wasn't "there" yet in his spiritual journey when He said this but He said so anyway. This goes to show what God thinks of us imperfect people. God never sees us bad people trying to become good, but good people trying to become great. He sees the best in us when no one can [Some of Job's friends for instance]. And so brethren, stay steadfast for God's got yo back. Be blessed Yo!
