1 Chronicles 18
1 And after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them, and took Gath and its towns out of the hand of the Philistines.2 And he smote Moab; and the Moabites became servants to David, and brought tribute.
3 And David smote Hadarezer king of Zobah unto Hamath, as he went to establish his dominion by the river Euphrates.4 And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen; and David hocked all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for a hundred chariots.
5 And when the Syrians of Damascus came to succor Hadarezer king of Zobah, David smote of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.6 Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought tribute. And Jehovah gave victory to David whithersoever he went.7 And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadarezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.8 And from Tibhath and from Cun, cities of Hadarezer, David took very much brass, wherewith Solomon made the brazen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.
9 And when Tou king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadarezer king of Zobah,10 he sent Hadoram his son to king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadarezer and smitten him; (for Hadarezer had wars with Tou;) and he had with him all manner of vessels of gold and silver and brass.11 These also did king David dedicate unto Jehovah, with the silver and the gold that he carried away from all the nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.
12 Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah smote of the Edomites in the Valley of Salt eighteen thousand.13 And he put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became servants to David. And Jehovah gave victory to David whithersoever he went.
14 And David reigned over all Israel; and he executed justice and righteousness unto all his people.15 And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;16 and Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech the son of Abiathar, were priests; and Shavsha was scribe;17 and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were chief about the king.

1 Después de esto, David derrotó a los filisteost, los sometió y les arrebató Gat y sus dominios. 2 También derrotó a Moabt y quedó sometido a David como vasallo tributario. 3 Más tarde derrotó a Adadézer, rey de Sobá en Jamat, cuando iba a establecer su dominio en el río Éufrates. 4 David le capturó mil carros, siete mil soldados de caballería y veinte mil de infantería, y quebró las patas de todos los caballos de tiro, dejando sólo cien carros. 5 Los arameos de Damasco acudieron a socorrer a Adadézer, rey de Sobá, pero David mató a veinte mil de sus hombres.
6 Luego David puso gobernadores sobre los arameos de Damasco, que le quedaron sometidos como vasallos tributarios. Y el Señor hacía triunfar a David en todas sus campañas.
7 David se apoderó de los escudos de oro que llevaban los oficiales de Adadézer y los llevó a Jerusalén.t
8 Y en Tébaj y Cun, ciudades de Adadézer, David se incautó de una gran cantidad de bronce, con el que Salomón fabricó el mar de bronce, las columnas y los utensilios de broncet.
9 Cuando Tou, el rey de Jamat se enteró de que David había derrotado a todo el ejército del rey de Sobá, Adadézer, 10 envió a su hijo Hadoránt al rey David para saludarlo y felicitarlo por su victoria en la guerra contra Adadézer, pues este era enemigo de Tou. Hadorán llevaba toda clase de objetos de oro, plata y bronce.
11 El rey David consagró estos objetos al Señor, junto con la plata y el oro requisados a todas las naciones: Edom, Moab, los amonitas, los filisteos y Amalec.
12 Abisayt, hijo de Seruyá, derrotó a dieciocho mil edomitas en el valle de la Sal.
13 Luego puso gobernadores en Edom, quedando los edomitas sometidos a David. Y el Señor hacía triunfar a David en todas sus campañas.tOrganización de la corte*

14 David reinó sobre todo Israel, administrando el derecho y la justicia para todo su pueblo. 15 Joab, hijo de Seruyá, era el jefe del ejército; Josafat, hijo de Ajilud, era el heraldo; t 16 Sadoc, hijo de Ajitub, y Abimélec, hijo de Abiatart, eran los sacerdotes; Sausá era el secretario; 17 Banaías, hijo de Joyadá, era el jefe de los quereteos y peleteos; y los hijos de David eran los principales ayudantes del reyt.
