2 Kings 15

1 In the twenty and seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign.2 Sixteen years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned two and fifty years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.3 And he did that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah, according to all that his father Amaziah had done.4 Howbeit the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.5 And Jehovah smote the king, so that he was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a separate house. And Jotham the king’s son was over the household, judging the people of the land.6 Now the rest of the acts of Azariah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?7 And Azariah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.

8 In the thirty and eighth year of Azariah king of Judah did Zechariah the son of Jeroboam reign over Israel in Samaria six months.9 And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, as his fathers had done: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, wherewith he made Israel to sin.10 And Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and smote him before the people, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.11 Now the rest of the acts of Zechariah, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.12 This was the word of Jehovah which he spake unto Jehu, saying, Thy sons to the fourth generation shall sit upon the throne of Israel. And so it came to pass.

13 Shallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the nine and thirtieth year of Uzziah king of Judah; and he reigned the space of a month in Samaria.14 And Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and smote Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.15 Now the rest of the acts of Shallum, and his conspiracy which he made, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.16 Then Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that were therein, and the borders thereof, from Tirzah: because they opened not to him, therefore he smote it; and all the women therein that were with child he ripped up.

17 In the nine and thirtieth year of Azariah king of Judah began Menahem the son of Gadi to reign over Israel, and reigned ten years in Samaria.18 And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah: he departed not all his days from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, wherewith he made Israel to sin.19 There came against the land Pul the king of Assyria; and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand.20 And Menahem exacted the money of Israel, even of all the mighty men of wealth, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there in the land.21 Now the rest of the acts of Menahem, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?22 And Menahem slept with his fathers; and Pekahiah his son reigned in his stead.

23 In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekahiah the son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned two years.24 And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, wherewith he made Israel to sin.25 And Pekah the son of Remaliah, his captain, conspired against him, and smote him in Samaria, in the castle of the king’s house, with Argob and Arieh; and with him were fifty men of the Gileadites: and he slew him, and reigned in his stead.26 Now the rest of the acts of Pekahiah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

27 In the two and fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekah the son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned twenty years.28 And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, wherewith he made Israel to sin.

29 In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abel-beth-maacah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali; and he carried them captive to Assyria.30 And Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and smote him, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.31 Now the rest of the acts of Pekah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

32 In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah king of Israel began Jotham the son of Uzziah king of Judah to reign.33 Five and twenty years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Jerusha the daughter of Zadok.34 And he did that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah; he did according to all that his father Uzziah had done.35 Howbeit the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burned incense in the high places. He built the upper gate of the house of Jehovah.36 Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?37 In those days Jehovah began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah.38 And Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.

Reinado de Azarías

1 En el año veintisiete de Jeroboam, rey de Israel, comenzó a reinar Azarías hijo de Amasías, rey de Judá.

2 Cuando comenzó a reinar tenía dieciséis años, y cincuenta y dos años reinó en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre era Jecolías, de Jerusalén.
3 Hizo lo recto ante los ojos de Jehová, conforme a todas las cosas que su padre Amasías había hecho.4 Con todo, los lugares altos no se quitaron, pues el pueblo aún sacrificaba y quemaba incienso en los lugares altos.

5 Pero Jehová hirió al rey con lepra, y estuvo leproso hasta el día de su muerte. Habitó el rey en casa separada, y Jotam, su hijo, tenía el palacio a su cargo y gobernaba al pueblo.

7 Azarías durmió con sus padres y lo sepultaron con ellos en la ciudad de David. En su lugar reinó Jotam, su hijo.

Reinado de Zacarías

8 En el año treinta y ocho de Azarías, rey de Judá, Zacarías hijo de Jeroboam reinó seis meses sobre Israel.

9 Pero hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová, como lo habían hecho sus padres: no se apartó de los pecados de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, el que hizo pecar a Israel.

10 Contra él conspiró Salum hijo de Jabes, lo hirió en presencia de su pueblo, lo mató y reinó en su lugar.
11 Los demás hechos de Zacarías están escritos en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel.

12 Ésta era la palabra que Jehová había dicho a Jehú: «Tus hijos, hasta la cuarta generación, se sentarán en el trono de Israel.» Y fue así.

Reinado de Salum

13 Salum hijo de Jabes comenzó a reinar en el año treinta y nueve de Uzías, rey de Judá. Sólo reinó un mes en Samaria,14 porque Manahem hijo de Gadi subió de Tirsa, llegó a Samaria e hirió allí a Salum hijo de Jabes. Después de matarlo, reinó en su lugar.15 Los demás hechos de Salum y la conspiración que tramó están escritos en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel.

16 Entonces Manahem saqueó a Tifsa y a todos los que en ella estaban, y también sus alrededores, a partir de Tirsa. La saqueó porque no le habían abierto las puertas, y le abrió el vientre a todas las mujeres que estaban encintas.

17 En el año treinta y nueve de Azarías, rey de Judá, Manahem hijo de Gadi reinó en Samaria sobre Israel. Reinó diez años,

18 pero hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová: en todo su tiempo no se apartó de los pecados de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, el que hizo pecar a Israel.
19 En su tiempo, Pul, rey de Asiria, vino a atacar la tierra. Manahem dio a Pul mil talentos de plata para que le ayudara a confirmarse en el reino.

20 Manahem obtuvo este dinero de todos los poderosos y opulentos de Israel; cada uno debió pagar un impuesto de cincuenta siclos de plata para dar al rey de Asiria. Entonces el rey de Asiria se volvió, y no se detuvo allí en el país.

22 Manahem durmió con sus padres y reinó en su lugar Pekaía, su hijo.

Reinado de Pekaía

23 En el año cincuenta de Azarías, rey de Judá, Pekaía hijo de Manahem reinó dos años en Samaria sobre Israel.

24 E hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová: no se apartó de los pecados de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, el que hizo pecar a Israel.

25 Peka hijo de Remalías, capitán suyo, conspiró contra él y lo hirió en Samaria, en el palacio de la casa real, en compañía de Argob y de Arie, y de cincuenta hombres de los hijos de los galaaditas. Después que lo mató, reinó en su lugar.

26 Los demás hechos de Pekaía, y todo lo que hizo, está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel.

Reinado de Peka

27 En el año cincuenta y dos de Azarías, rey de Judá, reinó Peka hijo de Remalías en Samaria sobre Israel. Reinó veinte años,

28 e hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová: no se apartó de los pecados de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, el que hizo pecar a Israel.
29 En los días de Peka, rey de Israel, llegó Tiglat-pileser, rey de los asirios, y tomó a Ijón, Abel-bet-maaca, Janoa, Cedes, Hazor, Galaad, Galilea, y toda la tierra de Neftalí; y llevó sus habitantes cautivos a Asiria.

30 Oseas hijo de Ela conspiró contra Peka hijo de Remalías, lo hirió de muerte y reinó en su lugar a los veinte años de Jotam hijo de Uzías.

31 Los demás hechos de Peka, y todo lo que hizo, está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel.

Reinado de Jotam

32 En el segundo año de Peka hijo de Remalías, rey de Israel, comenzó a reinar Jotam hijo de Uzías, rey de Judá.

33 Cuando comenzó a reinar tenía veinticinco años, y reinó dieciséis años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre era Jerusa, hija de Sadoc.
34 Él hizo lo recto ante los ojos de Jehová, conforme a todas las cosas que había hecho su padre Uzías.

35 Con todo, los lugares altos no fueron quitados, pues el pueblo aún sacrificaba y quemaba incienso en los lugares altos. Edificó él la puerta más alta de la casa de Jehová.

36 Los demás hechos de Jotam, y todo lo que hizo, ¿no está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?
37 En aquel tiempo comenzó Jehová a enviar contra Judá a Rezín, rey de Siria, y a Peka hijo de Remalías.

38 Jotam durmió con sus padres y fue sepultado con ellos en la ciudad de David, su padre. En su lugar reinó Acaz, su hijo.
