2 Timothy 4

1 I charge thee in the sight of God, and of Christ Jesus, who shall judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom:2 preach the word; be urgent in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.3 For the time will come when they will not endure the sound doctrine; but, having itching ears, will heap to themselves teachers after their own lusts;4 and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside unto fables.5 But be thou sober in all things, suffer hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil thy ministry.6 For I am already being offered, and the time of my departure is come.7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith:8 henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give to me at that day; and not to me only, but also to all them that have loved his appearing.9 Give diligence to come shortly unto me:10 for Demas forsook me, having loved this present world, and went to Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.11 Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee; for he is useful to me for ministering.12 But Tychicus I sent to Ephesus.13 The cloak that I left at Troas with Carpus, bring when thou comest, and the books, especially the parchments.14 Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord will render to him according to his works:15 of whom do thou also beware; for he greatly withstood our words.16 At my first defence no one took my part, but all forsook me: may it not be laid to their account.17 But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me; that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.18 The Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will save me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.19 Salute Prisca and Aquila, and the house of Onesiphorus.20 Erastus remained at Corinth: but Trophimus I left at Miletus sick.21 Give diligence to come before winter. Eubulus saluteth thee, and Pudens, and Linus, and Claudia, and all the brethren.22 The Lord be with thy spirit. Grace be with you.

Predica la palabra

1 Te suplico encarecidamente delante de Dios y del Señor Jesucristo, que juzgará a los vivos y a los muertos en su manifestación y en su Reino,2 que prediques la palabra y que instes a tiempo y fuera de tiempo. Redarguye, reprende, exhorta con toda paciencia y doctrina,3 pues vendrá tiempo cuando no soportarán la sana doctrina, sino que, teniendo comezón de oír, se amontonarán maestros conforme a sus propias pasiones,4 y apartarán de la verdad el oído y se volverán a las fábulas.

5 Pero tú sé sobrio en todo, soporta las aflicciones, haz obra de evangelista, cumple tu ministerio.
6 Yo ya estoy próximo a ser sacrificado. El tiempo de mi partida está cercano.7 He peleado la buena batalla, he acabado la carrera, he guardado la fe.

8 Por lo demás, me está reservada la corona de justicia, la cual me dará el Señor, juez justo, en aquel día; y no sólo a mí, sino también a todos los que aman su venida.

Instrucciones personales

9 Procura venir pronto a verme,10 porque Demas me ha desamparado, amando este mundo, y se ha ido a Tesalónica. Crescente fue a Galacia, y Tito a Dalmacia.11 Sólo Lucas está conmigo. Toma a Marcos y tráelo contigo, porque me es útil para el ministerio.12 A Tíquico lo envié a Éfeso.

13 Trae, cuando vengas, el capote que dejé en Troas en casa de Carpo, y los libros, mayormente los pergaminos.
14 Alejandro el herrero me ha causado muchos males; el Señor le pague conforme a sus hechos.

15 Guárdate tú también de él, pues en gran manera se ha opuesto a nuestras palabras.
16 En mi primera defensa ninguno estuvo a mi lado, sino que todos me desampararon; no les sea tomado esto en cuenta.17 Pero el Señor estuvo a mi lado y me dio fuerzas, para que por mí fuera cumplida la predicación, y que todos los gentiles oyeran. Así fui librado de la boca del león.

18 Y el Señor me librará de toda obra mala y me preservará para su reino celestial. A él sea gloria por los siglos de los siglos. Amén.

Saludos y bendición final

19 Saluda a Prisca y a Aquila y a la casa de Onesíforo.20 Erasto se quedó en Corinto, y a Trófimo dejé en Mileto, enfermo.

21 Procura venir antes del invierno. Eubulo te saluda, y Pudente, Lino, Claudia y todos los hermanos.
22 El Señor Jesucristo esté con tu espíritu. La gracia sea con vosotros. Amén.
