Leviticus 9

1 And it came to pass on the eighth day, that Moses called Aaron and his sons, and the elders of Israel;2 and he said unto Aaron, Take thee a calf of the herd for a sin-offering, and a ram for a burnt-offering, without blemish, and offer them before Jehovah.3 And unto the children of Israel thou shalt speak, saying, Take ye a he-goat for a sin-offering; and a calf and a lamb, both a year old, without blemish, for a burnt-offering;4 and an ox and a ram for peace-offerings, to sacrifice before Jehovah; and a meal-offering mingled with oil: for to-day Jehovah appeareth unto you.5 And they brought that which Moses commanded before the tent of meeting: and all the congregation drew near and stood before Jehovah.6 And Moses said, This is the thing which Jehovah commanded that ye should do: and the glory of Jehovah shall appear unto you.7 And Moses said unto Aaron, Draw near unto the altar, and offer thy sin-offering, and thy burnt-offering, and make atonement for thyself, and for the people; and offer the oblation of the people, and make atonement for them; as Jehovah commanded.

8 So Aaron drew near unto the altar, and slew the calf of the sin-offering, which was for himself.9 And the sons of Aaron presented the blood unto him; and he dipped his finger in the blood, and put it upon the horns of the altar, and poured out the blood at the base of the altar:10 but the fat, and the kidneys, and the caul from the liver of the sin-offering, he burnt upon the altar; as Jehovah commanded Moses.11 And the flesh and the skin he burnt with fire without the camp.

12 And he slew the burnt-offering; and Aaron’s sons delivered unto him the blood, and he sprinkled it upon the altar round about.13 And they delivered the burnt-offering unto him, piece by piece, and the head: and he burnt them upon the altar.14 And he washed the inwards and the legs, and burnt them upon the burnt-offering on the altar.

15 And he presented the people’s oblation, and took the goat of the sin-offering which was for the people, and slew it, and offered it for sin, as the first.16 And he presented the burnt-offering, and offered it according to the ordinance.17 And he presented the meal-offering, and filled his hand therefrom, and burnt it upon the altar, besides the burnt-offering of the morning.

18 He slew also the ox and the ram, the sacrifice of peace-offerings, which was for the people: and Aaron’s sons delivered unto him the blood, which he sprinkled upon the altar round about,19 and the fat of the ox and of the ram, the fat tail, and that which covereth the inwards, and the kidneys, and the caul of the liver:20 and they put the fat upon the breasts, and he burnt the fat upon the altar:21 and the breasts and the right thigh Aaron waved for a wave-offering before Jehovah; as Moses commanded.

22 And Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people, and blessed them; and he came down from offering the sin-offering, and the burnt-offering, and the peace-offerings.23 And Moses and Aaron went into the tent of meeting, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of Jehovah appeared unto all the people.24 And there came forth fire from before Jehovah, and consumed upon the altar the burnt-offering and the fat: and when all the people saw it, they shouted, and fell on their faces.

LEVÍTICO 9

Inauguración del servicio sacerdotal

1 Al octavo día Moisés llamó a Aarón, a sus hijos y a los ancianos de Israel;

2 y dijo a Aarón:
— Toma un novillo para ofrenda de purificaciónt y un carnero para holocausto, ambos sin defecto alguno, y ofrécelos ante el Señor.t 3 Y di a los israelitas: “Tomen un macho cabrío para la ofrenda de purificación, y tomen también un novillo y un cordero de un año, ambos sin defecto alguno, para holocausto;

4 tomen luego un toro y un carnero para sacrificio de comunión e inmólenlos en presencia del Señor, junto con una ofrenda de cereal amasada con aceite; porque el Señor se manifestará hoy a ustedes”.
5 Llevaron lo que había ordenado Moisés ante la Tienda del encuentro, se acercó toda la comunidad y se colocó en presencia del Señor.

6 Entonces Moisés les dijo:
— Hagan esto que ha ordenado el Señor para que la gloria del Señor se les manifieste.t

7 Y dijo Moisés a Aarón:
— Acércate al altar y presenta tu ofrenda de purificación y tu holocausto. Haz de esta manera la expiación por ti y por el pueblo; presenta también la ofrenda del pueblo y haz la expiación por ellos, como ha ordenado el Señor.t
8 Entonces se acercó Aarón al altar y degolló el novillo de su ofrenda de purificación. 9 Sus hijos sacerdotes le trajeron la sangre en la que mojó su dedo untando con ella los salientest del altar y derramando el resto de la sangre al pie del altar. 10 Quemó luego sobre el altar la grasa, los riñones y el lóbulo del hígado de la ofrenda de purificación, como el Señor había ordenado a Moisés;

11 la carne y la piel las quemó fuera del campamento.
12 Después Aarón degolló la víctima del holocaustot; sus hijos sacerdotes le trajeron la sangre y roció con ella el altar por todos sus lados. 13 Le trajeron también, ya descuartizada, la víctima del holocausto, cabeza incluida, y lo quemó todo sobre el altar.

14 Luego lavó las vísceras y las patas, y las quemó en el altar, sobre el holocausto.
15 Presentó también Aarón la ofrenda del pueblo. Tomó el macho cabrío destinado a la ofrenda de purificación por el pueblo y lo degolló, ofreciéndolo por el pecado, igual que había hecho con el novillo. 16 Ofreció el holocausto según lo ordenado. 17 Asimismo presentó Aarón la ofrenda de cerealt, de la que tomó un puñado quemándolo sobre el altar, además del holocausto de la mañana.

18 Degolló también el toro y el carnero como sacrificio de comuniónt por el pueblo; sus hijos sacerdotes le trajeron la sangre con la que roció el altar por todos sus lados.
19 En cuanto a la grasa del toro y del carnero, la cola, la grasa que envuelve las vísceras, los riñones y el lóbulo del hígado, 20 lo pusieron sobre el pecho de las víctimas, y Aarón lo quemó sobre el altar.

21 Con los pechos y con el muslo derecho hizo Aarón el rito de la elevaciónt en presencia del Señor, como Moisés había ordenado.

Bendición y teofanía

22 Luego Aarón, alzando sus manos hacia el pueblo, lo bendijo; y después de hacer la ofrenda de purificación, el holocausto y el sacrificio de comunión, descendió del altar.t
23 Moisés y Aarón entraron en la Tienda del encuentro; cuando salieron, bendijeron al pueblo y la gloria del Señor se manifestó a todo el pueblo.t 24 Salió fuegot de la presencia del Señor y consumió el holocausto y la grasa que estaba sobre el altar. Al verlo, todo el pueblo prorrumpió en gritos de júbilo y se postraron rostro en tierra.t
