Luke 24

1 But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came unto the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared.2 And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb.3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.4 And it came to pass, while they were perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel:5 and as they were affrighted and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,7 saying that the Son of man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.8 And they remembered his words,9 and returned from the tomb, and told all these things to the eleven, and to all the rest.10 Now they were Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James: and the other women with them told these things unto the apostles.11 And these words appeared in their sight as idle talk; and they disbelieved them.12 But Peter arose, and ran unto the tomb; and stooping and looking in, he seeth the linen cloths by themselves; and he departed to his home, wondering at that which was come to pass.13 And behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was threescore furlongs from Jerusalem.14 And they communed with each other of all these things which had happened.15 And it came to pass, while they communed and questioned together, that Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.17 And he said unto them, What communications are these that ye have one with another, as ye walk? And they stood still, looking sad.18 And one of them, named Cleopas, answering said unto him, Dost thou alone sojourn in Jerusalem and not know the things which are come to pass there in these days?19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, The things concerning Jesus the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:20 and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him.21 But we hoped that it was he who should redeem Israel. Yea and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things came to pass.22 Moreover certain women of our company amazed us, having been early at the tomb;23 and when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive.24 And certain of them that were with us went to the tomb, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.25 And he said unto them, O foolish men, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!26 Behooved it not the Christ to suffer these things, and to enter into his glory?27 And beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he interpreted to them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.28 And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they were going: and he made as though he would go further.29 And they constrained him, saying, Abide with us; for it is toward evening, and the day is now far spent. And he went in to abide with them.30 And it came to pass, when he had sat down with them to meat, he took the bread and blessed; and breaking it he gave to them.31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.32 And they said one to another, Was not our heart burning within us, while he spake to us in the way, while he opened to us the scriptures?33 And they rose up that very hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them,34 saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.35 And they rehearsed the things that happened in the way, and how he was known of them in the breaking of the bread.36 And as they spake these things, he himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they beheld a spirit.38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and wherefore do questionings arise in your heart?39 See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye behold me having.40 And when he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.41 And while they still disbelieved for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here anything to eat?42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish.43 And he took it, and ate before them.44 And he said unto them, These are my words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must needs be fulfilled, which are written in the law of Moses, and the prophets, and the psalms, concerning me.45 Then opened he their mind, that they might understand the scriptures;46 and he said unto them, Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer, and rise again from the dead the third day;47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name unto all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.48 Ye are witnesses of these things.49 And behold, I send forth the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city, until ye be clothed with power from on high.50 And he led them out until they were over against Bethany: and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.51 And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he parted from them, and was carried up into heaven.52 And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:53 and were continually in the temple, blessing God.

LUCAS 24

Resurrección de Jesús

(Mt 28,1-10; Mc 16,1-8; Jn 20,1-10)

1 El primer día de la semanat, al amanecer, las mujeres fueron al sepulcro con los perfumes que habían preparado.t 2 Al llegar, se encontraron con que la piedra que cerraba el sepulcro había sido removida. 3 Entraron, pero no encontraron el cuerpo de Jesús, el Señor.t 4 Estaban aún desconcertadas ante el caso, cuando se les presentaron dos hombres vestidos con ropas resplandecientest

5 que, al ver cómo las mujeres se postraban rostro en tierra llenas de miedo, les dijeron:
— ¿Por qué buscan entre los muertos al que está vivo? 6 No está aquí; ha resucitado. Recuerden que él les habló de esto cuando aún estaba en Galilea.

7 Ya les dijo entonces que el Hijo del hombret tenía que ser entregado en manos de pecadores y que iban a crucificarlo, pero que resucitaría al tercer día.t
8 Ellas recordaron, en efecto, las palabras de Jesús 9 y, regresando del sepulcro, llevaron la noticia a los Once y a todos los demás. 10 Así pues, fueron María Magdalena, Juana, María la madre de Santiago, y las otras que estaban con ellas, quienes comunicaron a los apóstoles lo que había pasado.

11 Pero a los apóstoles les pareció todo esto una locura y no las creyeron.

12 Pedrot, sin embargo, se decidió, y echó a correr hacia el sepulcro. Al inclinarse a mirar, sólo vio los lienzos; así que regresó a casa lleno de asombro por lo que había sucedido.

En el camino de Emaús

(Mc 16,12-13)

17 Entonces Jesús les preguntó:
— ¿Qué es eso que discuten mientras van de camino?
Se detuvieron con el semblante ensombrecido,

18 y uno de ellos, llamado Cleofást, le contestó:
— Seguramente tú eres el único en toda Jerusalén que no se ha enterado de lo que ha pasado allí estos días.

19 Él preguntó:
— ¿Pues qué ha pasado?
Le dijeron:
— Lo de Jesús de Nazarett, que era un profeta poderoso en hechos y palabras delante de Dios y de todo el pueblo.t 20 Los jefes de nuestros sacerdotes y nuestras autoridades lo entregaron para que lo condenaran a muerte y lo crucificaran. 21 Nosotros teníamos la esperanza de que él iba a ser el libertador de Israel, pero ya han pasado tres días desde que sucedió todo esto.t 22 Verdad es que algunas mujeres de nuestro grupo nos han desconcertado, pues fueron de madrugada al sepulcrot 23 y, al no encontrar su cuerpo, volvieron diciendo que también se les habían aparecido unos ángeles y les habían dicho que él está vivo.

24 Algunos de los nuestros acudieron después al sepulcro y lo encontraron todo tal y como las mujeres habían dicho. Pero a él no lo vieron.

25 Jesús, entonces, les dijo:
— ¡Qué lentos son ustedes para comprender y cuánto les cuesta creer lo dicho por los profetas!t

26 ¿No tenía que sufrir el Mesías todo esto antes de ser glorificado?t

27 Y, empezando por Moisés y siguiendo por todos los profetast, les explicó cada uno de los pasajes de las Escrituras que se referían a él mismo.t
28 Cuando llegaron a la aldea adonde se dirigían, Jesús hizo ademán de seguir adelante.

29 Pero ellos le dijeron, insistiendo mucho:
— Quédate con nosotros, porque atardece ya y la noche se echa encima.
Él entró y se quedó con ellos. 30 Luego, cuando se sentaron juntos a la mesa, Jesús tomó el pan, dio gracias a Dios, lo partió y se lo dio.t 31 En aquel momento se les abrieron los ojos y lo reconocieron; pero él desapareció de su vista.

32 Entonces se dijeron el uno al otro:
— ¿No nos ardía ya el corazón cuando conversábamos con él por el camino y nos explicaba las Escrituras?
33 En el mismo instante emprendieron el camino de regreso a Jerusalén, donde encontraron reunidos a los Once y a todos los demás,

34 que les dijeron:
— Es cierto que el Señor ha resucitado y se ha aparecido a Simónt.t

35 Ellos, por su parte, contaron también lo que les había sucedido en el camino y cómo habían reconocido a Jesús cuando partía el pan.

Jesús se aparece a los discípulos

(Mt 28,16-20; Mc 16,14-18; Jn 20,19-23)

36 Todavía estaban hablando de estas cosas, cuando Jesús se puso en medio de ellos y les dijo:
— ¡La paz sea con ustedes!t
37 Sorprendidos y muy asustados, creían estar viendo un fantasma.t

38 Pero Jesús les dijo:
— ¿Por qué se asustan y por qué dudan tanto en su interior?

39 Miren mis manos y mis pies: soy yo mismo. Tóquenme y mírenme. Los fantasmas no tienen carne ni huesos, como ustedes ven que yo tengo.
40 Al decir esto, les mostró las manos y los pies.

41 Pero aunque estaban llenos de alegría, no se lo acababan de creer a causa del asombro. Así que Jesús les preguntó:
— ¿Tienen aquí algo de comer?t
42 Le ofrecieron un trozo de pescado asadot, 43 que él tomó y comió en presencia de todos.

44 Luego les dijo:
— Cuando aún estaba con ustedes, ya les advertí que tenía que cumplirse todo lo que está escrito acerca de mí en la ley de Moisés, en los libros de los profetas y en los salmost.t
45 Entonces les abrió la mente para que comprendieran el sentido de las Escrituras.

46 Y añadió:
— Estaba escrito que el Mesías tenía que morir y que resucitaría al tercer día; 47 y también que en su nombre se ha de proclamar a todas las naciones, comenzando desde Jerusalén, un mensaje de conversión y de perdón de los pecados. 48 Ustedes son testigos de todas estas cosas.t

49 Miren, yo voy a enviarles el don prometido por mi Padre. Quédense aquí, en Jerusalén, hasta que reciban la fuerza que viene de Dios.t
