Matthew 25
1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.2 And five of them were foolish, and five were wise.3 For the foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them:4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.5 Now while the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.6 But at midnight there is a cry, Behold, the bridegroom! Come ye forth to meet him.7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are going out.9 But the wise answered, saying, Peradventure there will not be enough for us and you: go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.10 And while they went away to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage feast: and the door was shut.11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.13 Watch therefore, for ye know not the day nor the hour.
14 For it is as when a man, going into another country, called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one; to each according to his several ability; and he went on his journey.16 Straightway he that received the five talents went and traded with them, and made other five talents.17 In like manner he also that received the two gained other two.18 But he that received the one went away and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.19 Now after a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and maketh a reckoning with them.20 And he that received the five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: lo, I have gained other five talents.21 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord.22 And he also that received the two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: lo, I have gained other two talents.23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord.24 And he also that had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou didst not sow, and gathering where thou didst not scatter;25 and I was afraid, and went away and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, thou hast thine own.26 But his lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I did not scatter;27 thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back mine own with interest.28 Take ye away therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him that hath the ten talents.29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not, even that which he hath shall be taken away.30 And cast ye out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
31 But when the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the angels with him, then shall he sit on the throne of his glory:32 and before him shall be gathered all the nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as the shepherd separateth the sheep from the goats;33 and he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:35 for I was hungry, and ye gave me to eat; I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in;36 naked, and ye clothed me; I was sick, and ye visited me; I was in prison, and ye came unto me.37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, and fed thee? or athirst, and gave thee drink?38 And when saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?39 And when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it unto one of these my brethren, even these least, ye did it unto me.41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels:42 for I was hungry, and ye did not give me to eat; I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink;43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in; naked, and ye clothed me not; sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.44 Then shall they also answer, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not unto one of these least, ye did it not unto me.46 And these shall go away into eternal punishment: but the righteous into eternal life.

Parábola de las diez muchachas
1 El reino de los cielost puede compararse a diez muchachas que en una boda tomaron sendas lámparas de aceite y salieron a recibir al novio.t 2 Cinco de aquellas muchachas eran descuidadas, y las otras cinco previsoras.t 3 Y sucedió que las descuidadas llevaron sus lámparas, pero olvidaron tomar el aceite necesario. 4 En cambio, las previsoras, junto con las lámparas, llevaron también alcuzas de aceite. 5 Como el novio tardaba en llegar, les entró sueño a todas y se durmieron.t 6 Cuando a eso de la medianoche se oyó gritar: “¡Ya viene el novio! ¡Salgan a recibirlo!”, 7 las diez muchachas se despertaron y comenzaron a preparar sus lámparas. 8 Las descuidadas, dirigiéndose a las previsoras, les dijeron: “Nuestras lámparas se están apagando. Dennos un poco de su aceite”. 9 Las previsoras les contestaron: “No podemos, porque entonces tampoco nosotras tendríamos bastante. Mejor es que acudan a quienes lo venden y lo compren”. 10 Pero mientras estaban comprándolo, llegó el novio, y las que lo tenían todo a punto entraron con él a la fiesta nupcial, y luego la puerta se cerró. 11 Más tarde llegaron las otras muchachas y se pusieron a llamar: “¡Señor, señor, ábrenos!”.t
12 Pero él les contestó: “Les aseguro que no sé quiénes son ustedes”.
13 Esten, pues, muy atentos porque no saben ni el día ni la hora [de la venida del Hijo del hombre]t.tParábola del capital y los intereses
14 Igualmente [el reino de los cielos] es como un hombre que, al irse de viaje, reunió a sus criados y les confió la administración de sus negocios. 15 A cada cual, de acuerdo con su capacidad, le confió una cantidad de dinero: a uno le entregó cinco talentost; a otro, dos; y a otro, uno. Luego emprendió su viaje. 16 El que había recibido cinco talentos negoció con su capital y lo duplicó. 17 El que había recibido dos talentos hizo lo mismo, y también duplicó su capital. 18 En cambio, el que solamente había recibido un talento, tomó el dinero del amo, hizo un hoyo en el suelo y lo enterró. 19 Al cabo de mucho tiempo regresó el amo y se puso a hacer cuentas con sus criados.t 20 Llegó el que había recibido los cinco talentos y, presentándole otros cinco, le dijo: “Señor, tú me entregaste cinco talentos; mira, he logrado duplicarlos”. 21 El amo le contestó: “Está muy bien. Has sido un administrador honrado y fiel. Y como has sido fiel en lo poco, yo te pondré al frente de mucho más. Entra y participa en mi propia alegría”. 22 Llegó después el que había recibido dos talentos, y dijo: “Señor, tú me entregaste dos talentos; mira, he logrado duplicarlos”. 23 El amo le dijo: “Está muy bien. Has sido un administrador honrado y fiel. Y como has sido fiel en lo poco, yo te pondré al frente de mucho más. Entra y participa en mi propia alegría”. 24 Por último, llegó el que solamente había recibido un talento, y dijo: “Señor, yo sabía que eres un hombre duro, que pretendes cosechar donde no sembraste y recoger donde no esparciste. 25 Tuve miedo y escondí tu dinero bajo tierra. Aquí lo tienes”. 26 El amo le contestó: “Administrador malo y holgazán: si sabías que yo cosecho donde no he sembrado y recojo donde no he esparcido, 27 ¿por qué no llevaste mi dinero al banco? Así, a mi regreso, yo habría recibido el capital más los intereses. 28 ¡Quítenle, pues, la parte que le confié y entrégensela al que tiene diez partes! 29 Porque a todo el que tiene, aún se le dará más, y tendrá de sobra; pero al que no tiene, hasta lo que tenga se le quitará.
30 Y a este criado inútil arrójenlo fuera, a la oscuridad. Allí llorará y le rechinarán los dientes”t.El juicio final
31 Cuando el Hijo del hombret venga con todo su esplendor y acompañado de todos sus ángeles, se sentará en su trono glorioso.t 32 Todos los habitantes del mundo serán reunidos en su presencia, y él separará a unos de otros, como el pastor separa las ovejas de los machos cabríost,t 33 poniendo las ovejas a un lado y los machos cabríos al otrot. 34 Luego el rey dirá a los unos: “Vengan, benditos de mi Padre; reciban en propiedad el reino que se les ha preparado desde el principio del mundo.t 35 Porque estuve hambriento, y ustedes me dieron de comer; estuve sediento, y me dieron de beber; llegué como un extraño, y me recibieron en sus casas;t 36 no tenía ropa y me la dieron; estuve enfermo, y me visitaron; en la cárcel, y fuieron a verme”. 37 Entonces los justos le contestarán: “Señor, ¿cuándo te vimos hambriento o sediento y te dimos de comer y beber? 38 ¿Cuándo llegaste como un extraño y te recibimos en nuestras casas? ¿Cuándo te vimos sin ropa y te la dimos? 39 ¿Cuándo estuviste enfermo o en la cárcel y fuimos a verte?”. 40 Y el rey les dirá: “Les aseguro que todo lo que hayen hecho en favor del más pequeño de mis hermanos, a mí me lo han hecho”.t 41 A los otros, en cambio, dirá: “¡Apártense de mí, malditos, al fuego eterno preparado para el diablo y sus ángeles!t 42 Porque estuve hambriento, y no me dieron de comer; estuve sediento, y no me dieron de beber; 43 llegué como un extraño, y no me recibieron en sus casas; me vieron sin ropa y no me la dieron; estuve enfermo y en la cárcel, y no me visitaron”. 44 Entonces ellos contestarán: “Señor, ¿cuándo te vimos hambriento, o sediento, o como un extraño, o sin ropa, o enfermo, o en la cárcel y no te ofrecimos ayuda?”. 45 Y él les dirá: “Les aseguro que cuanto no hicieron en favor de estos más pequeños, tampoco conmigo lo hicieron”. 46 De manera que estos irán al castigo eterno; en cambio, los justos irán a la vida eterna.t
