Romans 10
1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and my supplication to God is for them, that they may be saved.2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.3 For being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.4 For Christ is the end of the law unto righteousness to every one that believeth.5 For Moses writeth that the man that doeth the righteousness which is of the law shall live thereby.6 But the righteousness which is of faith saith thus, Say not in thy heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down:)7 or, Who shall descend into the abyss? (That is, to bring Christ up from the dead.)8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach:9 because if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord, and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved:10 for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be put to shame.12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek: for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich unto all that call upon him:13 for, Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?15 and how shall they preach, except they be sent? even as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that bring glad tidings of good things!16 But they did not all hearken to the glad tidings. For Isaiah saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?17 So belief cometh of hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.18 But I say, Did they not hear? Yea, verily, Their sound went out into all the earth, And their words unto the ends of the world.
19 But I say, Did Israel not know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy with that which is no nation, With a nation void of understanding will I anger you.
20 And Isaiah is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I became manifest unto them that asked not of me.
21 But as to Israel he saith, All the day long did I spread out my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.
ROMANOS 10
1 Hermanos, deseo con todo mi corazón y le pido a Dios que salve a los israelitas. 2 Soy testigo de que buscan a Dios con ardor, pero sin el debido conocimiento.t 3 Desconocen, en efecto, la fuerza salvadora divina y pretenden hacer valer la suya propia sin querer someterse a la de Dios.t
4 Pero Cristo constituye el punto finalt de la ley y por él restablece Dios en su amistadt a todo creyente.tTodos pueden alcanzar la salvación
5 En cuanto a la fuerza salvadora de la ley, así escribe Moisés: Quien cumpla la ley, encontrará vida en ellat.t 6 En cambio, de la fuerza salvadora de la fe dice así: No te inquietes preguntando: “¿Quién podrá subir al cielo?” —se sobreentiende que para hacer que Cristo baje—.t 7 Ni tampoco: “¿Quién bajará al abismo?” —se sobreentiende que para hacer surgir a Cristo de la muerte—.
8 Lo que dice la Escritura es esto: La palabra está muy cerca de ti. Está en tus labios y en tu propio corazón. Y se trata de la palabra de fe que nosotros proclamamos.
9 Si, pues, tus labios confiesan que Jesús es el Señor y crees en tu interior que Dios lo hizo resucitar triunfante de la muerte, serás salvado.t 10 Porque se necesita la fe interior del corazón para que Dios restablezca en su amistad, y la pública confesión de esa fe para obtener la salvaciónt.t 11 Pues dice la Escritura: Nadie que ponga en él su confianza quedará defraudadot 12 Y no existe diferencia entre judío y no judíot, ya que uno mismo es el Señor de todos, y su generosidad se desborda con todos los que lo invocan.t 13 Por tanto, todo el que invoque el nombre del Señor se salvará.t 14 Ahora bien, ¿cómo van a invocar a aquel en quien no creen? ¿Y cómo van a creer en él si no han oído su mensaje? ¿Y cómo van a oír su mensaje si nadie lo proclama? 15 ¿Y cómo lo van proclamar si no son enviados? Por eso dice la Escritura: ¡Qué hermosos son los pies de los que anuncian buenas noticias!t 16 Pero no todos han aceptado la buena noticia. Lo dice Isaías: Señor, ¿quién ha creído nuestra proclamación?t 17 En todo caso, la fe surge de la proclamación, y la proclamación se realiza mediante la palabra de Cristot. 18 Y yo pregunto: ¿Será que no han oído? ¡Por supuesto que sí! La voz de los mensajeros ha resonado en todo el mundo y sus palabras han llegado hasta el último rincón de la tierra.t
19 Pero insisto: ¿será que Israel no ha entendido el mensaje? Oigamos en primer lugar lo que dice Moisés:
Haré que ustedes tengan celos
de un pueblo que no es mío,
provocaré el enojo de ustedes
mediante una nación no sabia. t
20 Pero Isaías se atreve a más todavía:
Los que no me buscaban me encontraron;
me manifesté a los que no preguntaban por mí. t
21 En cambio, de Israel dice:
Todo el día he tenido mis manos
tendidas a un pueblo indócil y rebelde.
