Romans 14
1 But him that is weak in faith receive ye, yet not for decision of scruples.2 One man hath faith to eat all things: but he that is weak eateth herbs.3 Let not him that eateth set at nought him that eateth not; and let not him that eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.4 Who art thou that judgest the servant of another? to his own lord he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be made to stand; for the Lord hath power to make him stand.5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let each man be fully assured in his own mind.6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord: and he that eateth, eateth unto the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, unto the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.7 For none of us liveth to himself, and none dieth to himself.8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; or whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.9 For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living.10 But thou, why dost thou judge thy brother? or thou again, why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment-seat of God.11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, to me every knee shall bow, And every tongue shall confess to God.
12 So then each one of us shall give account of himself to God.13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge ye this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock in his brother’s way, or an occasion of falling.14 I know, and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean of itself: save that to him who accounteth anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.15 For if because of meat thy brother is grieved, thou walkest no longer in love. Destroy not with thy meat him for whom Christ died.16 Let not then your good be evil spoken of:17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.18 For he that herein serveth Christ is well-pleasing to God, and approved of men.19 So then let us follow after things which make for peace, and things whereby we may edify one another.20 Overthrow not for meat’s sake the work of God. All things indeed are clean; howbeit it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.21 It is good not to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor to do anything whereby thy brother stumbleth.22 The faith which thou hast, have thou to thyself before God. Happy is he that judgeth not himself in that which he approveth.23 But he that doubteth is condemned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith; and whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

Condescendencia y apoyo mutuo
1 Acojan a los que tienen una fe poco formadat y no se enzarcen en cuestiones opinables.t 2 Algunos creen que se puede comer de todot; otros, en cambio, tienen la fe poco formada y sólo comen alimentos vegetales.t 3 Quien come de todo, que no desprecie a quien se abstiene de comer ciertos alimentos; y el que no come ciertos alimentos, que no critique al que come de todo, pues ambos han sido acogidos por Dios.
4 ¿Quién eres tú para erigirte en juez de alguien que no está bajo tu dominio? Que se mantenga en pie o que caiga es algo que incumbe solamente a su amo. Y no cabe duda de que se mantendrá en pie, pues le sobra poder al Señor para mantenerlo.
5 Algunos dan especial importanciat a ciertos días mientras que otros piensan que todos los días son iguales. Actúe cada uno conforme al dictamen de su propia conciencia.t
6 El que piensa que hay que celebrar determinadas fechas, con intención de honrar al Señor lo hace. Y el que come de todo, también lo hace para honrar al Señor; de hecho, da gracias a Dios por ello. De la misma manera, el que se abstiene de comer ciertos manjares, lo hace para honrar al Señor, y también da gracias a Dios.t
7 Nadie vive ni muere para sí mismo. 8 Si vivimos, para el Señor vivimos; si morimos, para el Señor morimos. Así pues, en vida o en muerte, pertenecemos al Señor.t 9 Para eso murió y resucitó Cristo: para ser Señor de vivos y muertos.t 10 ¿Cómo te atreves, entonces, a erigirte en juez de tu hermano? ¿Quién eres tú para despreciarlo? Todos hemos de comparecer ante el tribunal de Dios,t
11 pues dice la Escritura:
Por mi vida, dice el Señor,
que ante mí se doblará toda rodilla,
y todos reconocerán la grandeza de Dios .t
12 En una palabra, cada uno de nosotros habrá de rendir cuentas a Dios de sí mismot.tConvivir en paz y armonía
13 Por tanto, dejemos ya de criticarnos unos a otros. Propónganse, más bien, no ser para el hermano ocasión o motivo de pecado.t 14 Apoyado en Jesús, el Señor, estoy plenamente convencido de que nada es en sí mismo impurot; una cosa es impura sólo para aquel que la considere como tal.t 15 Claro que si, por comer un determinado alimento, haces daño a tu hermano, ya no es el amor la norma de tu vidat. ¡Triste cosa sería hacer que perezca por cuestiones de alimentos alguien por quien Cristo ha muerto! 16 No permitan, pues, que se les critique por algo que en sí mismo es bueno. 17 El reino de Dios no consiste en lo que se come o en lo que se bebe; consiste en una vida recta, alegre y pacífica que procede del Espíritu Santo.t
18 Quien sirve así a Cristo, agrada a Dios y se granjea la estima humanat.
19 Así que busquemos con afán lo que contribuye a la paz y a la convivencia mutua. 20 ¿Por qué destruir la obra de Dios por una cuestión de alimentos? Todo lo que se come es bueno, pero se convierte en malo para quien, al comerlo, pone a otro en ocasión de pecado. 21 Más vale, pues, que te abstengas de carne, de vino o de cualquier otra cosa, antes que poner a tu hermano en trance de pecar.t 22 La fe bien formada que tú tienes, resérvala para tus relaciones personales con Dios. ¡Dichoso el que puede tomar una decisión sin angustias de conciencia! 23 Pero quien tiene dudas de si un alimento está prohibido o permitido y, sin embargo, lo come, se hace culpable al no proceder conforme al dictamen de su conciencia. Pues todo lo que se hace con mala conciencia es pecado.t
