Spiritual Parenthood

Relational Depth: People who take a personal intrest in sowing into our lives helping us follow Jesus more fully. Imitation Worthy: People whose lives reflect jesus. While not perfect their life, conduct, and faith are worthy of imitaion.

Reason Why we Dont Have These Relationally: We are afraid of the commitment and being vunrable infront of people.

1 Corinthians 4 The Difference Between Babysitter and Parents.

Babysitter: Vs. 8-10 they teach wisdom, power and honor. They have no long term intreset in the child. This is what Paul is getting at, they have 10000 babysitters teaching ABOUT Christ making sure they just dont die. But what they need is a parent. This related to church is a group of people that we dont let people get to far off the deep in and it is program lead instead of being relationally lead.

Parents: Vs 10-16 You see Pauls character in these verses. You see him trying to become more like Jesus. You see Paul's character again when he says; "i urge you to imiatate me, as i follow Christ".

Can anyone else say this, follow me and imitate as i follow Christ cause we are all going to the same direction.

I learned how to forgive and be humble not by reading it in a book i learned it messing up and having people for give me. I learned how to pray by sitting with people who knew how to pray and following. I/WE can not go through life seprate from one another but we must seek and live with PARENTS that guide us to a better self.

Everyone has something to offer to someone else, we all have things that we have learned, things that we can sow into other people. The challenge is to be a Paul for someone else guiding someone. But we also need to be a Timothy allowing other people to sow seeds into us.

Gods Grace in your life is not just for you. It is for you and the person that come up from behind you.
