Question #1: When did You Meet Jesus? I’m not sure or I don’t know isn't an answer. We don’t answer that way with other relationships in our lives (marriage, birth of a child, etc.)

John 1:35-39

John 1:35-39 NLT

The following day John was again standing with two of his disciples. As Jesus walked by, John looked at him and declared, “Look! There is the Lamb of God!” When John’s two disciples heard this, they followed Jesus. Jesus looked around and saw them following. “What do you want?” he asked them. They replied, “Rabbi” (which means “Teacher”), “where are you staying?” “Come and see,” he said. It was about four o’clock in the afternoon when they went with him to the place where he was staying, and they remained with him the rest of the day.

Question #2: Who Have You Introduced to Jesus? Do you know the first thing Andrew did after he met Jesus? He didn’t take a Bible class. He didn’t go to church. He didn’t go to a Bible college. The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother and tell him about Jesus!

John 1:41-46

John 1:41-46 NIV84

The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas” (which, when translated, is Peter). The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip, he said to him, “Follow me.” Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida. Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote–Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” “Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” Nathanael asked. “Come and see,” said Philip.

Jesus found Phillip. Phillip found Nathanael.

Jesus found Phillip. Phillip found Nathanael. Phillip tells Nathanael, I just met Jesus, and I want you to meet Jesus.” And instead of getting excited, he’s skeptical. Nathanael has a question about Jesus. Nothing wrong with having questions about Jesus. You and I have friends and family who are skeptical about Jesus. That’s okay. What’s not okay is arguing with people. That never helps people meet Jesus. Phillip didn’t argue with Nathanael. What Phillip did was say, “Come and see for yourself.” Phillip brought Nathanael to Jesus. That was Phillip’s approach to evangelism. Phillip didn’t try to answer all of Nathanael’s questions. He just said, “Come and see.”

Question #3: What’s keeping you from talking about Jesus?

First Option: Invest & Invite

Maybe you don’t know how. So the first option is to do what Andrew and Phillip did—tell your friends to “Come and see.” Invite them to church. I’ll talk about Jesus! We call this in our core values, invest and invite. You invest relationally in your friends and family, and then invite them to church where they can “Come and see” Jesus.

Christianity is about DONE, not DO!

Most people think Christianity and religion is what you DO—do this rule, don’t break this rule. But look at this verse—it is all about what God has already DONE! God loved. God gave. So what should we do? Everyone who believes, then you will have eternal life.
