The Holy Spirit Shows Up - Acts 2:1-4 NIV

Acts 2:1-4 NIV84

When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

What do we know about tongues? When someone speaks in tongues publicly, there should be an INTERPRETATION.

Need an Interpreter - 1 Corinthians 14:27-28 NIV

1 Corinthians 14:27-28 NIV84

If anyone speaks in a tongue, two–or at the most three–should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret. If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and God.

One at a Time - 1 Corinthians 14:23 NIV

1 Corinthians 14:23 NIV84

Prophecy is Better - 1 Corinthians 14:4-5 NLT

1 Corinthians 14:4-5 NLT

A person who speaks in tongues is strengthened personally, but one who speaks a word of prophecy strengthens the entire church. I wish you could all speak in tongues, but even more I wish you could all prophesy. For prophecy is greater than speaking in tongues, unless someone interprets what you are saying so that the whole church will be strengthened.

1 Corinthians 14:18-19 NIV84

Live by the Spirit - Galatians 5:16-17 NIV

Galatians 5:16-17 NIV84

So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want.

Soaked with the Spirit - Ephesians 5:15-18 NLT

Ephesians 5:15-18 NLT

So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit,
