Fear’s Not from God
2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Your Greatest Potential
The path to your greatest POTENTIAL is often straight through your greatest FEAR.
Benaiah
• Benaiah was one of the top five soldiers in Israel. • He was a General in the Israeli army. • He was the Captain of King David’s bodyguards.
Benaiah’s Exploits
2 Samuel 23:20-21 NIV84
Benaiah son of Jehoiada was a valiant fighter from Kabzeel, who performed great exploits. He struck down two of Moab's best men. He also went down into a pit on a snowy day and killed a lion. And he struck down a huge Egyptian. Although the Egyptian had a spear in his hand, Benaiah went against him with a club. He snatched the spear from the Egyptian's hand and killed him with his own spear.
Chasing Lions
2 Samuel 23:20 NIV84
Benaiah son of Jehoiada was a valiant fighter from Kabzeel, who performed great exploits. He struck down two of Moab's best men. He also went down into a pit on a snowy day and killed a lion.
What Lion Do You Need to Chase?
Take a minute and think about the LION in your life that you need to chase. Make a note here. This note will be emailed to you once it is complete.
People with Unstoppable Courage (1 of 2)
Know that the BIGGER their God is the SMALLER the lions become.
In the Lions’ Den
Daniel 6:20-22 NIV84
When he came near the den, he called to Daniel in an anguished voice, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you from the lions?” Daniel answered, “O king, live forever! My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, O king.”
No Playing It Safe
Hebrews 11:6 NIV84
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Talk It Over
What did God say to you through this message? What are you going to do about it? Spend time this week talking it over. What lion do you need to chase? How will you break through your fear to reach your greatest potential? How big is your God compared to what you’re facing? Remind each other how big your head knows He is so your heart can be encouraged. Can you please God playing it safe? What faith risks do you need to take right now?
