Daniel 12
1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince who standeth for the children of thy people; and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.3 And they that are wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.5 Then I, Daniel, looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on the brink of the river on this side, and the other on the brink of the river on that side.6 And one said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and a half; and when they have made an end of breaking in pieces the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my lord, what shall be the issue of these things?9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel; for the words are shut up and sealed till the time of the end.10 Many shall purify themselves, and make themselves white, and be refined; but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand; but they that are wise shall understand.11 And from the time that the continual burnt-offering shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand and two hundred and ninety days.12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.13 But go thou thy way till the end be; for thou shalt rest, and shalt stand in thy lot, at the end of the days.

Le temps d’angoisse et le retour à la vie
1 « L’ange me dit encore : “En ce temps-là paraîtra Michel, le chef des anges, le protecteur de ton peuple. Ce sera un temps d’angoisse, comme il n’y en aura jamais eu depuis qu’une nation existe et jusqu’à ce moment-là. Alors seront sauvés tous ceux de ton peuple dont le nom sera inscrit dans le livre de viet. 2 Beaucoup de gens qui dorment au fond de la tombe se réveilleront, les uns pour la vie éternelle, les autres pour la honte, pour l’horreur éternellet.
3 Les gens intelligents rayonneront de splendeur comme la voûte céleste ; après avoir montré aux autres comment être fidèles, ils brilleront pour toujours comme des étoiles.
4 “Toi, Daniel, garde secret ce message, ne révèle pas le contenu de ce livre avant le temps de la fin. Alors beaucoup de gens le consulteront et leur connaissance en sera augmentéet.” »Le moment de la fin reste un secret
5 « Tandis que moi, Daniel, je contemplais cette vision, deux autres personnages apparurent, debout de part et d’autre du fleuve. 6 L’un d’eux s’adressa au personnage vêtu d’habits de lint, qui se tenait au-dessus de l’eau du fleuve, et lui demanda : “Quand ces événements extraordinaires prendront-ils fin ?”
7 Le personnage aux habits de lin leva les deux mains vers le ciel, et je l’entendis déclarer : “Je le jure, au nom du Dieu qui vit pour toujours, ces événements dureront trois ans et demit. Ils prendront fin quand la puissance du peuple de Dieu sera entièrement brisée.”
8 « Moi, Daniel, j’entendis ces paroles, mais sans comprendre. C’est pourquoi je demandai : “Mon seigneur, comment tout cela se terminera-t-il ?” – 9 “Va en paix, Daniel, me répondit-il. Ce message doit rester soigneusement caché jusqu’au moment de la fin. 10 Beaucoup de gens seront purifiés, blanchis, affinés par les épreuves. Les gens mauvais, incapables de comprendre, continueront de commettre leurs crimest. Mais les gens intelligents comprendront ce qui se passe. 11 Depuis le moment où l’on ne pourra plus offrir à Dieu le sacrifice de chaque jour, et où ’l’Horreur abominable’ sera dressée sur l’autelt, il s’écoulera 1 290 jours. 12 Heureux ceux qui demeureront fermes dans leur attente pendant 1 335 jours. 13 Quant à toi, Daniel, tiens bon jusqu’au bout. Alors tu auras droit au repos, puis tu te relèveras pour recevoir ta récompense à la fin des temps.” »
