Deuteronomy 16
1 Observe the month of Abib, and keep the passover unto Jehovah thy God; for in the month of Abib Jehovah thy God brought thee forth out of Egypt by night.2 And thou shalt sacrifice the passover unto Jehovah thy God, of the flock and the herd, in the place which Jehovah shall choose, to cause his name to dwell there.3 Thou shalt eat no leavened bread with it; seven days shalt thou eat unleavened bread therewith, even the bread of affliction; for thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt in haste: that thou mayest remember the day when thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt all the days of thy life.4 And there shall be no leaven seen with thee in all thy borders seven days; neither shall any of the flesh, which thou sacrificest the first day at even, remain all night until the morning.5 Thou mayest not sacrifice the passover within any of thy gates, which Jehovah thy God giveth thee;6 but at the place which Jehovah thy God shall choose, to cause his name to dwell in, there thou shalt sacrifice the passover at even, at the going down of the sun, at the season that thou camest forth out of Egypt.7 And thou shalt roast and eat it in the place which Jehovah thy God shall choose: and thou shalt turn in the morning, and go unto thy tents.8 Six days thou shalt eat unleavened bread; and on the seventh day shall be a solemn assembly to Jehovah thy God; thou shalt do no work therein.
9 Seven weeks shalt thou number unto thee: from the time thou beginnest to put the sickle to the standing grain shalt thou begin to number seven weeks.10 And thou shalt keep the feast of weeks unto Jehovah thy God with a tribute of a freewill-offering of thy hand, which thou shalt give, according as Jehovah thy God blesseth thee:11 and thou shalt rejoice before Jehovah thy God, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy man-servant, and thy maid-servant, and the Levite that is within thy gates, and the sojourner, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are in the midst of thee, in the place which Jehovah thy God shall choose, to cause his name to dwell there.12 And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in Egypt: and thou shalt observe and do these statutes.
13 Thou shalt keep the feast of tabernacles seven days, after that thou hast gathered in from thy threshing-floor and from thy winepress:14 and thou shalt rejoice in thy feast, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy man-servant, and thy maid-servant, and the Levite, and the sojourner, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within thy gates.15 Seven days shalt thou keep a feast unto Jehovah thy God in the place which Jehovah shall choose; because Jehovah thy God will bless thee in all thine increase, and in all the work of thy hands, and thou shalt be altogether joyful.16 Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before Jehovah thy God in the place which he shall choose: in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles; and they shall not appear before Jehovah empty:17 every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of Jehovah thy God which he hath given thee.
18 Judges and officers shalt thou make thee in all thy gates, which Jehovah thy God giveth thee, according to thy tribes; and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment.19 Thou shalt not wrest justice: thou shalt not respect persons; neither shalt thou take a bribe; for a bribe doth blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous.20 That which is altogether just shalt thou follow, that thou mayest live, and inherit the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee.
21 Thou shalt not plant thee an Asherah of any kind of tree beside the altar of Jehovah thy God, which thou shalt make thee.22 Neither shalt thou set thee up a pillar; which Jehovah thy God hateth.

La fête de la Pâque
1 Au cours du mois d’Abibt, n’oubliez pas de célébrer la fête de la Pâque en l’honneur du Seigneur votre Dieu. En effet, c’est durant une nuit de ce mois-là que le Seigneur vous a fait sortir d’Égypte. 2 Les animaux que vous offrirez au Seigneur lors de la Pâque seront pris dans les troupeaux de moutons, de chèvres ou de bœufs. La cérémonie se déroulera dans le lieu que le Seigneur aura choisi pour y manifester sa présence. 3 Au repas de la fête, vous ne mangerez pas de pain levé ; pendant sept jours, vous mangerez du pain sans levain, qui vous rappellera avec quelle hâte vous avez dû quitter l’Égypte. En consommant ce pain de misère, vous vous souviendrez à jamais du jour où vous êtes sortis d’Égypte. 4 Durant ces sept jours, on ne devra trouver aucune trace de levain chez vous, dans tout votre pays. Quant à la viande de l’animal sacrifié le soir du premier jour, elle ne devra pas être gardée jusqu’au lendemain matin. 5 Vous ne serez pas autorisés à célébrer la Pâque dans n’importe laquelle des villes où le Seigneur votre Dieu vous aura permis d’habiter ; 6 vous le ferez uniquement dans celle qu’il aura choisie pour y manifester sa présence. Le sacrifice aura lieu le soir au coucher du soleil, c’est-à-dire à l’heure où vous êtes sortis d’Égyptet. 7 Vous ferez cuire l’animal et vous le mangerez dans le lieu choisi par le Seigneur. Le lendemain matin, vous rentrerez chez vous.
8 Pendant six jours vous mangerez du pain sans levain ; le septième jour, vous aurez une assemblée solennelle en l’honneur du Seigneur votre Dieu, et vous ne ferez aucun travailt.La fête de la Pentecôte
9 A partir du moment où vous commencerez la moisson, vous compterez sept semaines, 10 puis vous célébrerez la fête de la Pentecôte en l’honneur du Seigneur votre Dieu. Vous préparerez des offrandes volontaires, à la mesure des bienfaits que le Seigneur vous aura accordés, 11 et vous vous rendrez au lieu que le Seigneur aura choisi pour y manifester sa présence ; là, au sanctuaire du Seigneur, vous serez pleins de joie, vous, vos enfants, vos serviteurs et vos servantes, ainsi que les lévites, les étrangers, les orphelins et les veuves qui vivent parmi vous.
12 Souvenez-vous que vous avez été esclaves en Égypte, et veillez à mettre en pratique toutes ces loist.La fête des Huttes
13 Lorsque vous aurez terminé de battre les céréales et de presser le raisin, vous célébrerez pendant sept jours la fête des Huttest. 14 Vous en ferez une fête joyeuse, vous, vos enfants, vos serviteurs et vos servantes, ainsi que les lévites, les étrangers, les orphelins et les veuves qui vivent parmi vous.
15 Cette fête en l’honneur du Seigneur votre Dieu durera sept jours, dans le lieu qu’il aura choisi. Réjouissez-vous pleinement, car le Seigneur vous accordera d’abondantes récoltes et le succès dans tout ce que vous entreprendrezt.
16 Chaque année tous les hommes de votre peuple iront donc se présenter trois fois devant le Seigneur votre Dieu dans le lieu qu’il aura choisi : lors des fêtes des Pains sans levain, de la Pentecôte et des Huttes. Ils n’iront pas au sanctuaire du Seigneur les mains vides,
17 mais chacun apportera une offrande en fonction de ses moyens et à la mesure des bienfaits que le Seigneur votre Dieu lui aura accordés.Règles concernant la justice
18 Dans toutes les villes que le Seigneur votre Dieu vous donnera, vous désignerez des juges et des magistrats chargés de rendre la justice avec impartialité parmi les membres de vos tribus. 19 Ne faussez pas le cours de la justice ; dans un jugement, ne favorisez personne, et ne vous laissez pas corrompre par des cadeaux, car les cadeaux rendent aveugles même les plus clairvoyants et pervertissent les décisions des justest.
20 Vous vous efforcerez de rendre la justice de manière objective. Alors vous pourrez vivre et prendre possession du pays que le Seigneur votre Dieu vous donne.Pratiques religieuses interdites
21 Vous ne planterez ni poteau sacré ni arbre sacré à côté de l’autel que vous construirez pour le Seigneur votre Dieu. 22 Vous ne dresserez pas non plus à cet endroit de pierre sacrée, car le Seigneur déteste de telles pratiquest.
