Psalm 50
1 The Mighty One, God, Jehovah, hath spoken, And called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.
2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined forth.
3 Our God cometh, and doth not keep silence: A fire devoureth before him, And it is very tempestuous round about him.
4 He calleth to the heavens above, And to the earth, that he may judge his people:
5 Gather my saints together unto me, Those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.
6 And the heavens shall declare his righteousness; For God is judge himself. Selah
7 Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify unto thee: I am God, even thy God.
8 I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices; And thy burnt-offerings are continually before me.
9 I will take no bullock out of thy house, Nor he-goats out of thy folds.
10 For every beast of the forest is mine, And the cattle upon a thousand hills.
11 I know all the birds of the mountains; And the wild beasts of the field are mine.
12 If I were hungry, I would not tell thee; For the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.
13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls, Or drink the blood of goats?
14 Offer unto God the sacrifice of thanksgiving; And pay thy vows unto the Most High:
15 And call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
16 But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, And that thou hast taken my covenant in thy mouth,
17 Seeing thou hatest instruction, And castest my words behind thee?
18 When thou sawest a thief, thou consentedst with him, And hast been partaker with adulterers.
19 Thou givest thy mouth to evil, And thy tongue frameth deceit.
20 Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; Thou slanderest thine own mother’s son.
21 These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; Thou thoughtest that I was altogether such a one as thyself: But I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.
22 Now consider this, ye that forget God, Lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver:
23 Whoso offereth the sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifieth me; And to him that ordereth his way aright Will I show the salvation of God.

Dieu paraît pour prononcer son jugement
1 tPsaume. D’Asaph.
Dieu, Dieu, le SEIGNEUR (YHWH), parle et convoque la terre,
depuis le soleil levant jusqu’au couchant.
2 tDe Sion, beauté parfaite,
Dieu paraît dans sa splendeur.
3 tIl vient, notre Dieu, il ne garde pas le silence ;
devant lui c’est un feu dévorant,
autour de lui une violente tempête.
4 tIl crie vers le ciel, en haut,
et vers la terre, pour juger son peuple :
5 tRassemblez-moi mes fidèles,
qui concluent mon alliance sur sacrifice !
6 tLe ciel dira sa justice,
car c’est Dieu qui est juge. Pause.
7 tEcoute, mon peuple, et je parlerai ;
Israël, je témoignerai contre toi.
Je suis Dieu, ton Dieu.
8 Ce n’est pas pour tes sacrifices que je te fais des reproches ;
tes holocaustes sont constamment devant moi.
9 tJe ne prendrai pas un taureau de ta maison,
ni des boucs de tes bergeries.
10 tCar tous les animaux de la forêt sont à moi,
toutes les bêtes des montagnes, par milliers ;
11 je connais tous les oiseaux des montagnes,
et tout ce qui se meut dans les champs m’appartient.
12 tSi j’avais faim, je ne te le dirais pas,
car le monde m’appartient, avec tout ce qui s’y trouve.
13 tEst-ce que je mange la viande des taureaux ?
Est-ce que je bois le sang des boucs ?
14 tEn sacrifice à Dieu, offre la reconnaissance ;
acquitte-toi de tes vœux envers le Très-Haut.
15 tInvoque-moi au jour de la détresse :
je te délivrerai, et tu me glorifieras.
16 tEt Dieu dit au méchant :
Quoi donc ? Tu énumères mes prescriptions,
et tu as mon alliance à la bouche,
17 ttoi qui détestes l’instruction,
et qui rejettes mes paroles derrière toi !
18 tSi tu vois un voleur, tu te plais avec lui,
et ta part est avec les adultères.
19 tTu livres ta bouche au mal,
et ta langue tisse la tromperie.
20 tTu t’assieds et tu parles contre ton frère,
tu diffames le fils de ta mère.
21 tVoilà ce que tu as fait, et j’ai gardé le silence.
Tu t’es imaginé que j’étais comme toi,
mais je vais te faire des reproches et tout exposer sous tes yeux.
22 tComprenez donc cela, je vous prie, vous qui oubliez Dieu,
de peur que je ne déchire, sans que personne délivre.
23 tCelui qui, en sacrifice, offre la reconnaissance me glorifie,
et à celui qui veille sur sa voie
je ferai voir le salut de Dieu.
