Revelation 5

1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the back, close sealed with seven seals.2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a great voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?3 And no one in the heaven, or on the earth, or under the earth, was able to open the book, or to look thereon.4 And I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open the book, or to look thereon:5 and one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not; behold, the Lion that is of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath overcome to open the book and the seven seals thereof.6 And I saw in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, having seven horns, and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent forth into all the earth.7 And he came, and he taketh it out of the right hand of him that sat on the throne.8 And when he had taken the book, the four living creatures and the four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having each one a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.9 And they sing a new song, saying, Worthy art thou to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou was slain, and didst purchase unto God with thy blood men of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation,10 and madest them to be unto our God a kingdom and priests; and they reign upon earth.

11 And I saw, and I heard a voice of many angels round about the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;12 saying with a great voice, Worthy is the Lamb that hath been slain to receive the power, and riches, and wisdom, and might and honor, and glory, and blessing.

13 And every created thing which is in the heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and on the sea, and all things are in them, heard I saying, Unto him that sitteth on the throne, and unto the Lamb, be the blessing, and the honor, and the glory, and the dominion, for ever and ever.

14 And the four living creatures said, Amen. And the elders fell down and worshipped.

Le livre scellé et l’agneau

1  tAlors je vis dans la main droite de celui qui était assis sur le trône un livre écrit au dedans et au dos, scellé de sept sceaux. 2 tJe vis aussi un ange puissant qui proclamait d’une voix forte : Qui est digne d’ouvrir le livre et d’en rompre les sceaux ? 3 tMais personne, ni dans le ciel, ni sur la terre, ni sous la terre, ne pouvait ouvrir le livre ni le regarder. 4 Je pleurais beaucoup, parce que personne n’avait été trouvé digne d’ouvrir le livre ni de le regarder.

5 tMais l’un des anciens me dit : Ne pleure pas ; le lion de la tribu de Juda, le rejeton de David, a été vainqueur : il peut ouvrir le livre et ses sept sceaux !
6  tAlors je vis, au milieu du trône et des quatre êtres vivants et au milieu des anciens, un agneau debout, qui semblait immolé. Il avait sept cornes et sept yeux, qui sont les sept esprits de Dieu envoyés par toute la terre.

7 tIl vint recevoir le livre de la main droite de celui qui était assis sur le trône.
8  tQuand il eut reçu le livre, les quatre êtres vivants et les vingt-quatre anciens tombèrent devant l’agneau, tenant chacun une lyre et des coupes d’or pleines d’encens, qui sont les prières des saints.

9 tIls chantent un chant nouveau, en disant :
Tu es digne de recevoir le livre et d’en ouvrir les sceaux,
car tu as été immolé et tu as acheté pour Dieu, par ton sang,
des gens de toute tribu, de toute langue, de tout peuple et de toute nation ;

10  ttu as fait d’eux, pour notre Dieu, un royaume et des prêtres
et ils régneront sur la terre.
11  tJe regardai et j’entendis la voix de beaucoup d’anges autour du trône avec celle des êtres vivants et des anciens – leur nombre était des dizaines de milliers de fois dix mille, des milliers de milliers.

12 tIls disaient d’une voix forte :
L’agneau qui a été immolé est digne de recevoir
puissance, richesse, sagesse,
force, honneur, gloire et bénédiction.

13  tEt toutes les créatures dans le ciel, sur la terre, sous la terre et sur la mer, tout ce qui s’y trouve, je les entendis qui disaient :
A celui qui est assis sur le trône et à l’agneau,
la bénédiction, l’honneur, la gloire et le pouvoir
à tout jamais !

14  tEt les quatre êtres vivants disaient :Amen !
Et les anciens tombèrent pour se prosterner.
