Left pane.
The left pane displays the Bible reader. Use the orange arrows in the middle—or your mouse’s scroll wheel when the Bible reader is selected—to scroll up or down. At the top, select the Bible version you want to use, and Filter what portion of the text YouVersion displays using Stars or Tags.

Tags.
Tags let you mark references using words that make sense to you, so you can easily find what you want later. Tags are like bookmarks, or like your own personal concordance. (See also Add Tags.) Hover over an existing Tag to see your other options (change, remove, etc.).

Stars.
Stars let you mark references, like highlighting. Click individually inside each verse you want to Star. You can select multiple verses. YouVersion highlights each verse that you select. To deselect an individual verse, click inside it again. The Selected bar (the highlight at the bottom) displays which verses you currently have selected. Click “Clear” to deselect all. When you’ve selected all the verses you want to Star, click “Star it” at the bottom. YouVersion adds a Star for each reference. To remove a Star, simply click directly on it.

Right pane.
The right pane displays Stars, Tags, additional content, and other reference options for the verses you’re viewing. Use the orange arrows on the far right—or your mouse’s scroll wheel when the right pane is selected—to scroll up or down. Use the tools to sort, rate, star, tag, email, or flag additional content.

Tabs.
Select any tab to see your organizing options:
Community. Displays all Stars, Tags, and other references, from all YouVersion users.
My Version. Displays Stars, Tags, and additional content that you indicate you want to see (using Filter).
Journal. Displays only your journal entries and additional content.
