1 Chronicles 18
1 And after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them, and took Gath and its towns out of the hand of the Philistines.2 And he smote Moab; and the Moabites became servants to David, and brought tribute.
3 And David smote Hadarezer king of Zobah unto Hamath, as he went to establish his dominion by the river Euphrates.4 And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen; and David hocked all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for a hundred chariots.
5 And when the Syrians of Damascus came to succor Hadarezer king of Zobah, David smote of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.6 Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought tribute. And Jehovah gave victory to David whithersoever he went.7 And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadarezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.8 And from Tibhath and from Cun, cities of Hadarezer, David took very much brass, wherewith Solomon made the brazen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.
9 And when Tou king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadarezer king of Zobah,10 he sent Hadoram his son to king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadarezer and smitten him; (for Hadarezer had wars with Tou;) and he had with him all manner of vessels of gold and silver and brass.11 These also did king David dedicate unto Jehovah, with the silver and the gold that he carried away from all the nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.
12 Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah smote of the Edomites in the Valley of Salt eighteen thousand.13 And he put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became servants to David. And Jehovah gave victory to David whithersoever he went.
14 And David reigned over all Israel; and he executed justice and righteousness unto all his people.15 And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;16 and Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech the son of Abiathar, were priests; and Shavsha was scribe;17 and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were chief about the king.

다윗의 승리
1 그 후에 다윗은 블레셋 사람을 쳐서 복종시키고 가드와 그 주변 일대의 부락들을 빼앗았으며
2 또 모압을 정복하고 매년 조공을 바치도록 하였다.
3 그런 다음 다윗은 하맛 부근에 있는 소바의 하닷에셀왕을 공격하였다. 이것은 하닷에셀이 유프라테스강 상류 일대를 다시 장악하려고 했기 때문이었다.
4 그 전투에서 다윗은 전차 ,000대를 빼앗고 마병 7,000명과 보병 20,000명을 생포했으며 전차 100대의 말을 제외한 나머지 말들은 모조리 발의 힘줄을 끊어 버렸다.
5 그는 또 하닷에셀을 도우러 온 다마스커스의 시리아군 22,000명을 죽이고
6 다마스커스에 주둔군을 두었다. 그때부터 시리아 사람은 다윗의 종이 되어 그에게 조공을 바쳤다. 이와 같이 여호와께서는 다윗이 가는 곳마다 그에게 승리를 주셨다.
7 다윗은 하닷에셀왕의 신하들이 사용하던 금방패를 빼앗아 예루살렘으로 가져왔고
8 또 하닷에셀이 통치하던 성인 디브핫과 군에서 아주 많은 양의 놋도 빼앗아 왔다. 후에 솔로몬왕은 그 놋을 녹여 그것으로 성전의 물탱크와 기둥과 여러 가지 놋그릇을 만들었다.
9 하맛 왕 2도우는 다윗이 하닷에셀과의 전투에서 승리했다는 말을 듣고
10 그를 축하하기 위해 자기 아들 3하도람을 보냈다. 이것은 하닷에셀과 도우가 서로 적대 관계에 있었기 때문이었다. 그는 다윗에게 금과 은과 놋으로 만든 여러 가지 물건을 선물로 보냈다.
11 다윗왕은 에돔, 모압, 암몬, 아말렉, 블레셋 사람에게서 빼앗은 금은과 함께 이 선물들도 여호와께 바쳤다.
12 스루야의 아들 아비새가 ‘소금 골짜기’에서 에돔 사람 18,000명을 쳐죽이고
13 에돔의 전 지역에 주둔군을 두었으므로 에돔 사람들도 다윗의 종이 되었다. 이와 같이 여호와께서는 다윗이 가는 곳마다 그에게 승리를 주셨다.
14 다윗은 이스라엘 전역을 다스리며 모든 백성을 위해 언제나 공정하고 옳은 일을 하였다.
15 당시 그의 군대 총사령관은 스루야의 아들 요압이었고 그의 역사관은 아힐룻의 아들 여호사밧이었으며
16 제사장은 아히둡의 아들 사독과 아비아달의 아들 4아히멜렉이었다. 그리고 궁중 서기관은 5사워사였으며
17 그의 6경호대장은 여호야다의 아들 브나야였고 궁중 자문관은 그의 아들들이었다.
