Ezekiel 15

1 And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,2 Son of man, what is the vine-tree more than any tree, the vine-branch which is among the trees of the forest?3 Shall wood be taken thereof to make any work? or will men take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereon?4 Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel; the fire hath devoured both the ends of it, and the midst of it is burned: is it profitable for any work?5 Behold, when it was whole, it was meet for no work: how much less, when the fire hath devoured it, and it is burned, shall it yet be meet for any work!6 Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: As the vine-tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.7 And I will set my face against them; they shall go forth from the fire, but the fire shall devour them; and ye shall know that I am Jehovah, when I set my face against them.8 And I will make the land desolate, because they have committed a trespass, saith the Lord Jehovah.

포도나무 가지에 대한 비유

1 여호와께서 나에게 말씀하셨다.

2 “사람의 아들아, 포도나무를 어떻 게 다른 나무에 비할 수 있겠느냐? 포도나무 가지를 숲속의 나무에 비교할 때 나은 것이 무엇이냐?

3 포도나무 가지에서 무슨 쓸모있는 나무가 나오겠느냐? 그것을 가지고 물건을 걸어 둘 못이라도 만들 수 있겠느냐?

4 그것은 불에 던질 땔감밖에 되지 않는다. 불이 그 두 끝을 사르고 그 가운데를 새까맣게 태우면 그것을 어디에 쓰겠느냐?

5 그것이 타기 전에도 아무 쓸모가 없는데 그것이 불에 타서 새까맣게 된 다음에야 무슨 쓸모가 있겠느냐?

6 “그러므로 나 주 여호와가 말한다. 내가 숲속의 나무 중에서 포도나무를 땔감으로 불에 던진 것처럼 예루살렘에 사는 사람들도 불에 던질 것이다.

7 내가 그들을 대적할 것이니 그들이 불에서 나와도 불이 그들을 삼킬 것이다. 내가 그들을 벌할 때에 너희가 나를 여호와인 줄 알 것이다.

8 그들이 나에게 신실하지 못하였으므로 내가 그 땅을 황폐하게 하겠다. 이것은 나 주 여호와의 말이다.”
