Ezekiel 36

1 And thou, son of man, prophesy unto the mountains of Israel, and say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of Jehovah.2 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because the enemy hath said against you, Aha! and, The ancient high places are ours in possession;3 therefore prophesy, and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because, even because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the nations, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and the evil report of the people;4 therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Jehovah: Thus saith the Lord Jehovah to the mountains and to the hills, to the watercourses and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes and to the cities that are forsaken, which are become a prey and derision to the residue of the nations that are round about;5 therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the nations, and against all Edom, that have appointed my land unto themselves for a possession with the joy of all their heart, with despite of soul, to cast it out for a prey.6 Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and say unto the mountains and to the hills, to the watercourses and to the valleys, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my wrath, because ye have borne the shame of the nations:7 therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I have sworn, saying, Surely the nations that are round about you, they shall bear their shame.8 But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people Israel; for they are at hand to come.9 For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn into you, and ye shall be tilled and sown;10 and I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it; and the cities shall be inhabited, and the waste places shall be builded;11 and I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and be fruitful; and I will cause you to be inhabited after your former estate, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am Jehovah.12 Yea, I will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Israel; and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be their inheritance, and thou shalt no more henceforth bereave them of children.13 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because they say unto you, Thou land art a devourer of men, and hast been a bereaver of thy nation;14 therefore thou shalt devour men no more, neither bereave thy nation any more, saith the Lord Jehovah;15 neither will I let thee hear any more the shame of the nations, neither shalt thou bear the reproach of the peoples any more, neither shalt thou cause thy nation to stumble any more, saith the Lord Jehovah.16 Moreover the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,17 Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their way and by their doings: their way before me was as the uncleanness of a woman in her impurity.18 Wherefore I poured out my wrath upon them for the blood which they had poured out upon the land, and because they had defiled it with their idols;19 and I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.20 And when they came unto the nations, whither they went, they profaned my holy name; in that men said of them, These are the people of Jehovah, and are gone forth out of his land.21 But I had regard for my holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations, whither they went.22 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I do not this for your sake, O house of Israel, but for my holy name, which ye have profaned among the nations, whither ye went.23 And I will sanctify my great name, which hath been profaned among the nations, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the nations shall know that I am Jehovah, saith the Lord Jehovah, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.24 For I will take you from among the nations, and gather you out of all the countries, and will bring you into your own land.25 And I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep mine ordinances, and do them.28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.29 And I will save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the grain, and will multiply it, and lay no famine upon you.30 And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye may receive no more the reproach of famine among the nations.31 Then shall ye remember your evil ways, and your doings that were not good; and ye shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.32 Nor for your sake do I this, saith the Lord Jehovah, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel.33 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: In the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places shall be builded.34 And the land that was desolate shall be tilled, whereas it was a desolation in the sight of all that passed by.35 And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are fortified and inhabited.36 Then the nations that are left round about you shall know that I, Jehovah, have builded the ruined places, and planted that which was desolate: I, Jehovah, have spoken it, and I will do it.37 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: For this, moreover, will I be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them: I will increase them with men like a flock.38 As the flock for sacrifice, as the flock of Jerusalem in her appointed feasts, so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.

이스라엘에 대한 하나님의 축복

1 “사람의 아들아, 너는 이스라엘 산들에게 예언하고 말하라:이스라엘 산들아, 여호와의 말씀을 들어라.

2 주 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하셨다. ‘너희 대적이 너희를 비웃고 옛날의 높은 산들이 자기들 것이라고 말하였다.’

3 “그러므로 너는 예언하라. 너는 그들에게 나 주 여호와가 이렇게 말한다고 외쳐라. ‘그들이 너희를 황폐하게 하고 너희를 사방에서 약탈하여 너희를 다른 이방 민족의 소유가 되게 하고 세상 사람들의 비웃음과 놀림감이 되게 하였다.

4 그러므로 이스라엘 산들아, 너희는 나 주 여호와의 말을 들어라. 내가 산과 산등성과 시내와 골짜기와 황폐한 폐허와 너희 주변의 이방 민족들이 약탈하고 조롱하던 버려진 성들에게 말한다.

5 내가 불타는 질투로 이방 민족, 특별히 에돔을 책망하는 것은 그들이 기뻐하고 경멸하는 마음으로 내 땅을 빼앗고 약탈하여 자기들의 소유로 삼았기 때문이다.’

6 “그러므로 너는 이스라엘 땅에 대하여 예언하라. 너는 산과 산등성과 시내와 골짜기에 대하여 나 주 여호와가 이렇게 말한다고 외쳐라. ‘너희가 이방 민족 앞에서 수치를 당하였으므로 내가 질투와 분노로 말한다.

7 나 주 여호와가 분명히 말하지만 너희 주변에 있는 민족들도 수치를 당할 것이다.

8 그러나 너희 이스라엘 산들아, 너희는 가지를 내고 내 백성 이스라엘을 위해 열매를 맺을 것이다. 그들이 곧 고국으로 돌아올 때가 되었다.

9 내가 관심을 가지고 너희를 돌아보겠다. 사람이 너희를 갈고 작물을 심을 것이다.

10 또 내가 너희와 온 이스라엘 땅에 인구를 증가시켜 그들이 모든 성에 살게 하고 폐허가 된 곳을 재건하게 할 것이다.

11 내가 너희 위에 사람과 짐승을 많게 하여 번성하게 하겠다. 내가 옛날처럼 사람들이 너희 위에 살게 하여 너희를 이전보다 더 번창하게 할 것이니 그때 너희가 나를 여호와인 줄 알 것이다.

12 내가 내 백성 이스라엘 사람들을 너희 위에 걸어다니게 하겠다. 그들은 너희를 소유하고 너희는 그들의 재산이 될 것이며 너희 때문에 그들이 자녀를 잃는 일이 다시는 없을 것이다.

13 “‘나 주 여호와가 말한다. 이방 민족들이 너희가 사람을 삼키고 너희 나라 백성을 없애 버렸다고 말하고 있다.

14 그러나 이제부터는 너희가 다시는 사람을 삼키지 않으며 너희 나라 백성을 없애지 않을 것이다. 이것은 나 주 여호와의 말이다.

15 나는 너희가 더 이상 이방 나라의 조롱하는 소리를 듣지 않게 하고 온 세상의 수치를 당하지 않게 하며 너희 때문에 너희 나라가 망하는 일이 다시는 없도록 하겠다. 이것은 나 주 여호와의 말이다.’”

이스라엘의 새로운 삶

16 여호와께서 다시 나에게 말씀하셨다.

17 “사람의 아들아, 이스라엘 백성이 그들의 땅에 살고 있을 때 그들이 자기들의 행위로 그 땅을 더럽혔으니 내가 보기에는 그들의 행위가 월경중에 있는 여자의 부정함과도 같았다.

18 그들이 그 땅을 살인과 우상 숭배로 더럽혔으므로 내가 내 분노를 그들 위에 쏟고

19 그들을 그 행위대로 심판하여 세계 각처로 흩어 버렸다.

20 그러므로 그들이 가는 곳마다 그들로 인해서 내 이름이 더럽혀졌으니 이것은 사람들이 ‘이들은 여호와의 백성이지만 그 땅을 떠날 수밖에 없었다’고 말하였기 때문이다.

21 그러나 이스라엘 백성이 이방 나라에서 더럽힌 나의 거룩한 이름에 대하여 내가 관심을 갖게 되었다.

22 “그러므로 너는 이스라엘 백성에게 나 주 여호와가 이렇게 말한다고 일러 주어라. ‘이스라엘 백성아, 내가 이렇게 하는 것은 너희를 위해서가 아니라 너희가 들어간 그 이방 나라에서 더럽혀진 나의 거룩한 이름을 위해서이다.

23 이방 나라에서 더럽혀진 나의 이름, 곧 너희가 거기서 더럽힌 나의 위대한 이름을 내가 거룩하게 하겠다. 그들이 보는 데서 내가 나의 거룩함을 나타낼 때에 이방 나라들이 나를 여호와인 줄 알 것이다. 이것은 나 주 여호와의 말이다.

24 “‘내가 너희를 이방 나라에서 이끌어내겠다. 모든 나라에서 내가 너희를 모아 본토로 데리고 가서

25 맑은 물을 너희에게 뿌려 모든 더러운 것과 우상에서 너희를 깨끗하게 하겠다.

26 그리고 내가 너희에게 새 마음을 주고 너희 속에 새 정신을 넣어 주며 너희에게서 돌같이 굳은 마음을 제거하고 순종하는 마음을 줄 것이며

27 또 내 영을 너희 속에 넣어 주어 너희가 내 법을 따르고 내 명령을 준수하게 하겠다.

28 너희는 내가 너희 조상들에게 준 땅에 살 것이며 너희는 내 백성이 되고 나는 너희 하나님이 될 것이다.

29 내가 너희를 모든 더러운 데서 건져내고 곡식이 풍성하게 하여 기근이 너희에게 닥치지 못하게 할 것이며

30 또 나무 열매와 밭의 농작물을 풍성하게 하여 기근 때문에 너희가 이방 나라의 수치를 당하는 일이 없도록 하겠다.

31 그때 너희는 너희 악한 행위와 너희가 범한 잘못을 기억하고 너희 죄와 더러운 일에 대하여 너희 자신을 증오하게 될 것이다.

32 나 주 여호와가 말한다. 너희는 내가 이렇게 하는 것이 너희를 위한 것이 아님을 알아야 한다. 이스라엘 백성들아, 너희가 행한 일을 부끄럽게 여기고 수치로 알아라.

33 “‘나 주 여호와가 말한다. 내가 너희를 모든 죄에서 깨끗하게 하는 날에 내가 너희 성에 사람이 다시 살게 하고 폐허가 된 곳을 재건하게 하겠다.

34 지나다니던 자에게 황폐하게 보이던 땅이 다시 경작될 것이다.

35 사람들은 한때 황폐하던 이 땅이 에덴 동산같이 되었고, 폐허가 되어 적막하던 무너진 성들이 이제는 요새가 되어 사람이 살고 있다고 말할 것이다.

36 그때 살아 남은 너희 이웃 나라들이 나 여호와가 폐허가 된 성들을 재건하고 황폐한 땅을 일구어 놓은 것을 알게 될 것이다. 나 여호와가 말하였으므로 내가 그대로 행할 것이다.

37 “‘나 주 여호와가 말한다. 나는 또 이스라엘 백성이 나에게 이 일을 이루어 달라고 기도하게 하겠다. 내가 그들의 수를 양떼처럼 많게 하되

38 명절 때 제사를 드리기 위해서 예루살렘에 끌고 온 양떼처럼 많게 하여 폐허가 된 성에 사람의 떼로 채우겠다. 그들이 나를 여호와인 줄 알 것이다.’”
