Isaiah 45

1 Thus saith Jehovah to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him, and I will loose the loins of kings; to open the doors before him, and the gates shall not be shut:2 I will go before thee, and make the rough places smooth; I will break in pieces the doors of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron;3 and I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that it is I, Jehovah, who call thee by thy name, even the God of Israel.4 For Jacob my servant’s sake, and Israel my chosen, I have called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.5 I am Jehovah, and there is none else; besides me there is no God. I will gird thee, though thou hast not known me;6 that they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none besides me: I am Jehovah, and there is none else.7 I form the light, and create darkness; I make peace, and create evil. I am Jehovah, that doeth all these things.8 Distil, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, that it may bring forth salvation, and let it cause righteousness to spring up together; I, Jehovah, have created it.9 Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! a potsherd among the potsherds of the earth! Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?10 Woe unto him that saith unto a father, What begettest thou? or to a woman, With what travailest thou?11 Thus saith Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker: Ask me of the things that are to come; concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands, command ye me.12 I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens; and all their host have I commanded.13 I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will make straight all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let my exiles go free, not for price nor reward, saith Jehovah of hosts.14 Thus saith Jehovah, The labor of Egypt, and the merchandise of Ethiopia, and the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over unto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall go after thee, in chains they shall come over; and they shall fall down unto thee, they shall make supplication unto thee, saying, Surely God is in thee; and there is none else, there is no God.15 Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour.16 They shall be put to shame, yea, confounded, all of them; they shall go into confusion together that are makers of idols.17 But Israel shall be saved by Jehovah with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be put to shame nor confounded world without end.18 For thus saith Jehovah that created the heavens, the God that formed the earth and made it, that established it and created it not a waste, that formed it to be inhabited: I am Jehovah; and there is none else.19 I have not spoken in secret, in a place of the land of darkness; I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I, Jehovah, speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.20 Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that carry the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.21 Declare ye, and bring it forth; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath showed this from ancient time? who hath declared it of old? have not I, Jehovah? and there is no God else besides me, a just God and a Saviour; there is none besides me.22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is none else.23 By myself have I sworn, the word is gone forth from my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, that unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.24 Only in Jehovah, it is said of me, is righteousness and strength; even to him shall men come; and all they that were incensed against him shall be put to shame.25 In Jehovah shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.

주님께서 고레스를 세우시다

1 “나 주가 기름 부어 세운 고레스에게 말한다. 내가 너의 오른손을 굳게 잡아, 열방을 네 앞에 굴복시키고, 왕들의 허리띠를 풀어 놓겠다. 네가 가는 곳마다 한 번 열린 성문은 닫히지 않게 하겠다. 고레스는 들어라!

2 내가 너보다 앞서 가서 t산들을 평지로 만들고, 놋쇠 성문을 부수며, 쇠빗장을 부러뜨리겠다.

3 안보이는 곳에 간직된 보화와 감추어 둔 보물을 너에게 주겠다. 그 때에 너는, 내가 주인 줄을 알게 될 것이고, 이스라엘의 하나님이 너를 지명하여 불렀다는 것을 알게 될 것이다.

4 내가 너를 지명하여 부른 것은, 나의 종 야곱, 내가 택한 이스라엘을 도우려고 함이었다. 네가 비록 나를 알지 못하였으나, 내가 너에게 영예로운 이름을 준 까닭이 바로 여기에 있다.

5 나는 주다. 나 밖에 다른 이가 없다. 나 밖에 다른 신은 없다. 네가 비록 나를 알지 못하였으나, 나는 너에게 필요한 능력을 주겠다.

6 그렇게 해서, 해가 뜨는 곳에서나, 해가 지는 곳에서나, 나 밖에 다른 신이 없음을 사람들이 알게 하겠다. 나는 주다. 나 밖에는 다른 이가 없다.

7 나는 빛도 만들고 어둠도 창조하며, 평안도 주고 재앙도 일으킨다. 나 주가 이 모든 일을 한다.”

8 너 하늘아, 위에서부터 의를 내리되, 비처럼 쏟아지게 하여라. 너 창공아, 의를 부어 내려라. 땅아, 너는 열려서, 구원이 싹나게 하고, 공의가 움돋게 하여라. “나 주가 이 모든 것을 창조하였다.”

창조의 주, 역사의 주

9 질그릇 가운데서도 작은 한 조각에 지나지 않으면서, 자기를 지은 이와 다투는 자에게는 화가 닥칠 것이다. 진흙이 토기장이에게 ‘너는 도대체 무엇을 만들고 있는 거냐?’ 하고 말할 수 있겠으며, 네가 만든 것이 너에게 ‘그에게는 손이 있으나마나다!’ 하고 말할 수 있겠느냐?

10 아버지에게 말하기를 ‘나를 자식이라고 낳았습니까?’ 하는 자와, 자기 어머니에게 ‘무슨 해산의 고생을 했다는 겁니까?’ 하고 말하는 자식에게 화가 닥칠 것이다.

11  이스라엘의 거룩하신 하나님 곧 이스라엘을 지으신 주님께서 말씀하신다. “내가 낳은 자녀를 두고, 너희가 나에게 감히 물으려느냐? 내가 한 일을 너희가 나에게 감히 명령하려느냐?

12 바로 내가 친히 이 땅을 만들었으며, 바로 내가 그 위에 인류를 창조하였다. 내가 손수 하늘을 폈으며, 그 모든 별에게 명령을 내렸다.

13 바로 내가 t그를 의의 도구로 일으켰으니, 그의 모든 길을 평탄하게 하겠다. 그가 나의 도성을 재건하고, 포로된 나의 백성을 대가도 없이, 보상도 받지 않고, 놓아 줄 것이다.” 만군의 주님이 하신 말씀이다.

14 주님께서 말씀하신다. “이집트가 수고하여 얻은 재물과 에티오피아가 장사하여 얻은 이익이 너에게로 넘어오고, 키 큰 쓰바 사람들이 너에게로 건너와서 네 밑으로 들어와 너를 따를 것이며, 사슬에 매여 와서 네 앞에 엎드리고, 너에게 기도하는 것처럼 이르기를 ‘과연 하나님께서 당신과 함께 계십니다. 그 밖에 다른 이가 없습니다. 다른 신은 없습니다’ 할 것이다.”

15 구원자이신 이스라엘의 하나님, 진실로 주님께서는 자신을 숨기시는 하나님이십니다.

16 우상을 만드는 자들은 모두 한결같이 부끄러움을 당하고, 창피한 일을 당할 것이며, 치욕으로 물러갈 것입니다.

17 그러나 이스라엘은 주님 안에서 안전할 것입니다. 이스라엘의 구원은 영원할 것입니다. 너희 이스라엘아, 너희가 영원토록 부끄러움을 당하지 않고, 창피한 일을 당하지 않을 것이다.

18 하늘을 창조하신 주, 땅을 창조하시고 조성하신 하나님, 땅을 견고하게 하신 분이 말씀하신다. 그분은 땅을 혼돈 상태로 창조하신 것이 아니라, 사람이 살 수 있게 만드신 분이다. “나는 주다. 나 밖에 다른 신은 없다.

19 나는 어두운 곳에서 은밀하게 말하지 않았으며, 야곱의 자손에게 ‘나를 허무하게 찾아라’ 하지도 않았다. 나 주는 옳은 것을 말하고, 바른 것을 알린다.”

세상의 주님과 바빌론의 우상

20 이방 나라에서 살아 남은 자들아, 모여 오너라. 다 함께 가까이 오너라. “나무 우상을 들고 다니는 자들과, 구원하지도 못하는 신에게 기도하는 자들은, 무지한 자들이다.

21 너희는 앞 일을 말하고 진술하여 보아라. 함께 의논하여 보아라. 누가 예로부터 이 일을 들려주었으며, 누가 이전부터 이 일을 알려 주었느냐? 나 주가 아니고 누구냐? 나 밖에 다른 신은 없다. 나는 공의와 구원을 베푸는 하나님이니, 나 밖에 다른 신은 없다.”

22 땅 끝까지 흩어져 있는 사람들아! 모두 나에게 돌아와서 구원을 받아라. “내가 하나님이며, 나 밖에 다른 신은 없기 때문이다.

23 내가 나를 두고 맹세한다. 나의 입에서 공의로운 말이 나갔으니, 그 말이 거저 되돌아오지는 않는다.” 모두가 내 앞에 무릎을 꿇을 것이다. 모두들 나에게 충성을 맹세할 것이다.

24 ‘참으로 주님께만 공의와 능력이 있다’고 사람들이 나에게 고백할 것이다. 사람들이 그에게 올 것이나, 그에게 대항하던 자들은 모두 부끄러움을 당할 것이다.

25 그러나 이스라엘 자손은 모두 주 안에서 의롭다는 인정을 받고, 영예를 얻을 것이다.
