Isaiah 55

1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.3 Incline your ear, and come unto me; hear, and your soul shall live: and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander to the peoples.5 Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not; and a nation that knew not thee shall run unto thee, because of Jehovah thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.6 Seek ye Jehovah while he may be found; call ye upon him while he is near:7 let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return unto Jehovah, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith Jehovah.9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.10 For as the rain cometh down and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, and giveth seed to the sower and bread to the eater;11 so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing; and all the trees of the fields shall clap their hands.13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir-tree; and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle-tree: and it shall be to Jehovah for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.

하나님의 자비

1 너희 모든 목마른 사람들아, 어서 물로 나오너라. 돈이 없는 사람도 오너라. 너희는 와서 사서 먹되, 돈도 내지 말고 값도 지불하지 말고 포도주와 젖을 사거라.

2 어찌하여 너희는 양식을 얻지도 못하면서 돈을 지불하며, 배부르게 하여 주지도 못하는데, 그것 때문에 수고하느냐? “들어라, 내가 하는 말을 들어라. 그리하면 너희가 좋은 것을 먹으며, 기름진 것으로 너희 마음이 즐거울 것이다.

3 너희는 귀를 기울이고, 나에게 와서 들어라. 그러면 너희 영혼이 살 것이다. 내가 너희와 영원한 언약을 맺겠으니, 이것은 곧 다윗에게 베푼 나의 확실한 은혜다.

4 내가 그를 많은 민족 앞에 증인으로 세웠고, 많은 민족들의 t인도자와 명령자로 삼았다.”

5 네가 알지 못하는 나라를 네가 부를 것이며, 너를 알지 못하는 나라가 너에게 달려올 것이니, 이는 주 너의 하나님, 이스라엘의 거룩하신 하나님께서 너를 영화롭게 하시기 때문이다.

6 너희는, 만날 수 있을 때에 주님을 찾아라. 너희는, 가까이 계실 때에 주님을 불러라.

7 악한 자는 그 길을 버리고, 불의한 자는 그 생각을 버리고, 주님께 돌아오너라. 주님께서 그에게 긍휼을 베푸실 것이다. 우리의 하나님께로 돌아오너라. 주님께서 너그럽게 용서하여 주실 것이다.

8 “나의 생각은 너희의 생각과 다르며, 너희의 길은 나의 길과 다르다.” 주님께서 하신 말씀이다.

9 “하늘이 땅보다 높듯이, 나의 길은 너희의 길보다 높으며, 나의 생각은 너희의 생각보다 높다.

10 비와 눈이 하늘에서 내려서, 땅을 적셔서 싹이 돋아 열매를 맺게 하고, 씨뿌리는 사람에게 씨앗을 주고, 사람에게 먹거리를 주고 나서야, 그 근원으로 돌아가는 것처럼,

11 나의 입에서 나가는 말도, 내가 뜻하는 바를 이루고 나서야, 내가 하라고 보낸 일을 성취하고 나서야, 나에게로 돌아올 것이다.”

12 참으로 너희는 기뻐하면서 바빌론을 떠날 것이며, 평안히 인도받아 나아올 것이다. 산과 언덕이 너희 앞에서 소리 높여 노래하며, 들의 모든 나무가 손뼉을 칠 것이다.

13 가시나무가 자라던 곳에는 잣나무가 자랄 것이며, 찔레나무가 자라던 곳에는 화석류가 자랄 것이다. 이것은 영원토록 남아 있어서, 주님께서 하신 일을 증언할 것이다.
