Isaiah 66

1 Thus saith Jehovah, Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: what manner of house will ye build unto me? and what place shall be my rest?2 For all these things hath my hand made, and so all these things came to be, saith Jehovah: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and that trembleth at my word.3 He that killeth an ox is as he that slayeth a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as he that breaketh a dog’s neck; he that offereth an oblation, as he that offereth swine’s blood; he that burneth frankincense, as he that blesseth an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations:4 I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did that which was evil in mine eyes, and chose that wherein I delighted not.5 Hear the word of Jehovah, ye that tremble at his word: Your brethren that hate you, that cast you out for my name’s sake, have said, Let Jehovah be glorified, that we may see your joy; but it is they that shall be put to shame.6 A voice of tumult from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of Jehovah that rendereth recompense to his enemies.7 Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man-child.8 Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall a land be born in one day? shall a nation be brought forth at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.9 Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith Jehovah: shall I that cause to bring forth shut the womb? saith thy God.10 Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad for her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn over her;11 that ye may suck and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory.12 For thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream: and ye shall suck thereof; ye shall be borne upon the side, and shall be dandled upon the knees.13 As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.14 And ye shall see it, and your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like the tender grass: and the hand of Jehovah shall be known toward his servants; and he will have indignation against his enemies.15 For, behold, Jehovah will come with fire, and his chariots shall be like the whirlwind; to render his anger with fierceness, and his rebuke with flames of fire.16 For by fire will Jehovah execute judgment, and by his sword, upon all flesh; and the slain of Jehovah shall be many.17 They that sanctify themselves and purify themselves to go unto the gardens, behind one in the midst, eating swine’s flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, they shall come to an end together, saith Jehovah.18 For I know their works and their thoughts: the time cometh, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and shall see my glory.19 And I will set a sign among them, and I will send such as escape of them unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the nations.20 And they shall bring all your brethren out of all the nations for an oblation unto Jehovah, upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon dromedaries, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith Jehovah, as the children of Israel bring their oblation in a clean vessel into the house of Jehovah.21 And of them also will I take for priests and for Levites, saith Jehovah.22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith Jehovah, so shall your seed and your name remain.23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith Jehovah.24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the dead bodies of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

주님께서 민족들을 심판하시다

1 주님께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. “하늘은 나의 보좌요, 땅은 나의 발 받침대다. 그러니 너희가 어떻게 내가 살 집을 짓겠으며, 어느 곳에다가 나를 쉬게 하겠느냐?”

2 주님의 말씀이시다. “나의 손이 이 모든 것을 지었으며, 이 모든 것이 나의 것이다. 겸손한 사람, 회개하는 사람, 나를 경외하고 복종하는 사람, 바로 이런 사람을 내가 좋아한다.”

3 소를 죽여 제물로 바치는 자는 사람을 제물로 바치는 자와 같다. 양을 잡아 희생제물로 바치는 자는 개의 목을 부러뜨리는 자와 같다. 부어 드리는 제물을 바치는 자는 돼지의 피를 바치는 자와 같다. 분향을 드리는 자는 우상을 찬미하는 자와 같다. “이러한 제사장들은 나의 뜻을 묻지 않고 제 뜻대로 한 자들이다. 오히려 가증한 우상숭배를 즐겼다. 가증한 우상들을 진정으로 좋아하였다.

4 그러기에, 나도 나의 뜻대로 그들을 혹독하게 다루어, 그들이 겁내는 것을 그들에게 들이닥치게 하겠다. 내가 그렇게 불렀으나 그들이 응답하지 않았으며, 내가 그렇게 말하였으나 그들이 듣지 않았으며, 오히려 내가 보는 데서 악한 일을 하며, 내가 좋아하지 않는 일을 골라 하였기 때문이다.”

5 주님의 말씀을 떨리는 마음으로 받아들이는 사람들아, 너희는 그의 말씀을 들어라. “너희를 미워하는 백성은 너희가 나의 이름을 부른다고 해서 너희를 따돌리며, 이르기를 ‘주가 영광을 드러내어 너희들이 기뻐하는 모습을 우리가 한 번 볼 수 있게 하여 보아라’ 하고 말하나, 그들은 수치를 당할 것이다.”

6 성읍에서 요란한 소리가 나오며, 성전으로부터 소리가 들려 온다. 이것은 바로 주님께서 주님의 대적들에게 보응하시는 주님의 목소리이다.

7  시온은 진통이 오기도 전에 해산한다. 해산의 고통이 오기도 전에 아이를 낳는다.

8 누가 이런 일을 들은 적이 있느냐? 누가 이런 일을 본 적이 있느냐? 나라가 어찌 하루에 생길 수 있으며, 민족이 어찌 한 순간에 태어날 수 있겠느냐? 그러나 시온은 진통이 오자마자 아이들을 낳았다.

9 “바로 내가 아이를 모태에서 나오게 하거늘, 어찌 내가 아이를 낳게 할 수 없겠느냐?” 주님께서 말씀하신다. “아이를 낳게 하는 이가 나이거늘, 어찌 내가 아이를 못 나오게 막겠느냐?” 너의 하나님께서 말씀하신다.

10 “예루살렘을 사랑하는 사람들아, 그 성읍과 함께 기뻐하고 즐거워하여라. 예루살렘을 생각하며 슬퍼하던 사람들아, 너희는 모두 그 성읍과 함께 크게 기뻐하여라.

11 이는, 너희로 하여금, 위로를 주는 예루살렘의 품에서 젖을 빨아 배부르게 하고, 또한 너희로 하여금, 풍요한 젖을 빨아들여 기쁨을 누리게 하려 함이다.”

12 주님께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. “내가 예루살렘에 평화가 강물처럼 넘치게 하며, 뭇 나라의 부귀영화가 시냇물처럼 넘쳐서 흘러 오게 하겠다.” 너희는 예루살렘의 젖을 빨며, 그 팔에 안기고, 그 무릎 위에서 귀여움을 받을 것이다.

13 “어머니가 그 자식을 위로하듯이, 내가 너희를 위로할 것이니, 너희가 예루살렘에서 위로를 받을 것이다.”

14 너희가 이것을 보고 마음이 기쁠 것이며 너희의 뼈들이 무성한 풀처럼 튼튼할 것이다. 그리고 주님의 권능이 종들에게 알려지며, 주님께서 원수들에게 진노하실 것이다.

15 보아라, 주님께서 화염에 싸여 오시며, 그의 병거는 마치 회오리바람처럼 올 것이다. 그의 노여움이 진노로 바뀌고, 그의 질책이 타는 불길이 되어 보응하려 하신다.

16 주님께서 불로 온 세상을 심판하시며, 주님의 칼로 모든 사람을 심판하실 것이니, 주님께 죽음을 당할 자가 많을 것이다.

17 “스스로를 거룩하게 구별하며, 몸을 깨끗하게 하고, 이교 제사를 바치는 동산으로 들어가서, 우상을 가운데 놓고 둘러서서 돼지고기와 부정한 짐승과 쥐고기를 먹는 자들은, 모두 다 망할 것이다.” 주님의 말씀이시다.

18 “내가 그들의 일과 생각을 알기에, 언어가 다른 모든 민족을 모을 때가 올 것이니, 그들이 와서 나의 영광을 볼 것이다.

19 그리고 내가 그들 가운데 징표를 두어서, 살아 남은 자들을 t 스페인, 뿔, 활을 잘 쏘는 룻, 두발, 야완 민족들과 나의 명성을 들은 적도 없고, 나의 영광을 본 적도 없는 먼 섬들에게 보낼 것이며, 그들이 나의 영광을 모든 민족에게 알릴 것이다.

20 마치 이스라엘 자손이 주의 성전에 바칠 예물을 깨끗한 그릇에 담아서 가져 오는 것과 같이, 그들이 또한 모든 민족들로부터 너희의 모든 동포를 나 주에게 바치는 선물로 말과 수레와 가마와 노새와 낙타에 태워서, 나의 거룩한 산 예루살렘으로 데려올 것이다.” 주님께서 말씀하신다.

21 “그리고 나도 그들 가운데서 제사장과 레위 사람으로 삼을 자를 택하여 세우겠다.” 주님께서 말씀하신다.

22 “내가 지을 새 하늘과 새 땅이 내 앞에 늘 있듯이, 너희 자손과 너희 이름이 늘 있을 것이다.” 주님의 말씀이시다.

23 “매달 초하루와 안식일마다, 모든 사람이, 내 앞에 경배하려고 나올 것이다.” 주님께서 말씀하신다.

24 “그들이 나가서 나를 거역한 자들의 시체들을 볼 것이다.” 그들을 먹는 벌레가 죽지 않으며, 그들을 삼키는 불도 꺼지지 않을 것이니, 모든 사람이 그들을 보고 소름이 끼칠 것이다.
