Joel 3

1 For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring back the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,2 I will gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will execute judgment upon them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations: and they have parted my land,3 and have cast lots for my people, and have given a boy for a harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they may drink.4 Yea, and what are ye to me, O Tyre, and Sidon, and all the regions of Philistia? will ye render me a recompense? and if ye recompense me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompense upon your own head.5 Forasmuch as ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried into your temples my goodly precious things,6 and have sold the children of Judah and the children of Jerusalem unto the sons of the Grecians, that ye may remove them far from their border;7 behold, I will stir them up out of the place whither ye have sold them, and will return your recompense upon your own head;8 and I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the men of Sheba, to a nation far off: for Jehovah hath spoken it.9 Proclaim ye this among the nations; prepare war; stir up the mighty men; let all the men of war draw near, let them come up.10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning-hooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.11 Haste ye, and come, all ye nations round about, and gather yourselves together: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O Jehovah.12 Let the nations bestir themselves, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat; for there will I sit to judge all the nations round about.13 Put ye in the sickle; for the harvest is ripe: come, tread ye; for the winepress is full, the vats overflow; for their wickedness is great.14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! for the day of Jehovah is near in the valley of decision.15 The sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining.16 And Jehovah will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but Jehovah will be a refuge unto his people, and a stronghold to the children of Israel.17 So shall ye know that I am Jehovah your God, dwelling in Zion my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.18 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drop down sweet wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the brooks of Judah shall flow with waters; and a fountain shall come forth from the house of Jehovah, and shall water the valley of Shittim.19 Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence done to the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land.20 But Judah shall abide for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation.21 And I will cleanse their blood, that I have not cleansed: for Jehovah dwelleth in Zion.

요엘서 3

하나님이 민족들을 심판하시다

1 “때가 되어 그 날이 오면, 내가 유다와 예루살렘을 회복시켜서 번영하게 하겠다.

2 그 때에 내가 모든 민족을 불러모아, 그들을 t여호사밧 골짜기로 데리고 내려가서, 그들이 나의 백성이요 나의 소유인 이스라엘에게 저지른 일을 두고서, 내가 거기에서 그들을 심판하겠다. 그들이 나의 백성을 여러 민족 속에 흩어 놓고, 또 나의 땅을 나누어 가지고,

3 제비를 뽑아 나의 백성을 나누어 가졌기 때문이다. 소년을 팔아서 창녀를 사고, 소녀를 팔아서 술을 사 마셨기 때문이다.

4  두로와 시돈과 블레셋의 모든 지역아, 너희가 나에게 무엇을 하려고 하느냐? 너희는, 내가 한 일을 보복할 셈이냐? 너희가 나에게 무슨 보복을 한다면, 너희가 한 그대로 내가 당장 너희에게 갚아 주겠다.

5 너희가 나의 은과 금을 약탈해 갔으며, 나의 가장 귀한 보물을 너희의 t신전으로 가져 갔으며,

6  유다 백성과 예루살렘 시민을 그리스 사람에게 팔아 넘기며, 나라 밖 먼 곳으로 보냈다.

7 너희가 그들을 멀리 팔아 넘겼지만, 내가 그들을 거기에서 돌아오게 하고, 너희에게는 너희가 그들에게 한 그대로 갚아 주겠다.

8 이제는 내가 유다 사람을 시켜서, 너희의 아들딸들을 팔겠다. 유다 사람은 너희 자녀를 먼 나라 스바 사람에게 팔 것이다. 나 주의 말이다.”

9 너희는 모든 민족에게 이렇게 선포하여라. “전쟁을 준비하여라! 용사들을 무장시켜라. 군인들을 모두 소집하여 진군을 개시하여라!

10 보습을 쳐서 칼을 만들고, 낫을 쳐서 창을 만들어라. 병약한 사람도 용사라고 외치고 나서라.

11 사방의 모든 민족아, 너희는 모두 서둘러 오너라. 이 평원으로 모여라.” “주님, 주님의 군대를 보내셔서, 그들을 치십시오!”

12 “민족들아, 출발하여라. t 여호사밧 골짜기로 오너라. 내가 거기에 머물면서 사방의 민족들을 모두 심판하겠다.

13 거두어들일 곡식이 다 익었으니, 너희는 낫을 가지고 와서 곡식을 거두어라. 포도주 틀이 가득히 차고 포도주 독마다 술이 넘칠 때까지 포도를 밟듯이, 그들을 짓밟아라. 그들의 죄가 크기 때문이다.”

14 판결의 골짜기에 수많은 무리가 모였다. 판결의 골짜기에서 주님께서 심판하실 날이 가까이 왔다.

15 해와 달이 어두워지고, 별들이 빛을 잃는다.

하나님이 백성에게 복을 주시다

16 주님께서 시온에서 외치시고 예루살렘에서 큰소리를 내시니, 하늘과 땅이 진동한다. 그러나 주님께서는, 당신의 백성에게 피난처가 되실 것이다. 이스라엘 자손에게 요새가 되실 것이다.

17 “이스라엘아, 그 때에 너희는, 내가 주 너희의 하나님임을 알아야 한다. 나는 거룩한 산 시온에서 산다. 예루살렘은 거룩한 곳이 되고, 다시는 이방 사람이 그 도성을 침범하지 못할 것이다.

18 그 날이 오면, 산마다 새 포도주가 넘쳐 흐를 것이다. 언덕마다 젖이 흐를 것이다. 유다 개울마다 물이 가득 차고 주의 성전에서 샘물이 흘러 나와, t 싯딤 골짜기에 물을 대어 줄 것이다.

19 그러나 이집트는 황무지가 되고, 에돔은 황량한 사막으로 바뀐다. 그들이 유다 땅에 들어와서 백성을 폭행하고, 죄 없는 사람을 죽였기 때문이다.

20  유다 땅은 영원히 있겠고, 예루살렘도 대대로 그러할 것이다.

21 사람들이 학살을 당하여도 내가 그 원수를 갚아 주지 않았으나, 이제는 원수를 갚아 주겠다. 나 주는 시온에서 산다.”
