John 2

1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:2 and Jesus also was bidden, and his disciples, to the marriage.3 And when the wine failed, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.4 And Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.6 Now there were six waterpots of stone set there after the Jews’ manner of purifying, containing two or three firkins apiece.7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the ruler of the feast. And they bare it.9 And when the ruler of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and knew not whence it was (but the servants that had drawn the water knew), the ruler of the feast calleth the bridegroom,10 and saith unto him, Every man setteth on first the good wine; and when men have drunk freely, then that which is worse: thou hast kept the good wine until now.11 This beginning of his signs did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed on him.12 After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples; and there they abode not many days.13 And the passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.14 And he found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:15 and he made a scourge of cords, and cast all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and he poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew their tables;16 and to them that sold the doves he said, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house a house of merchandise.17 His disciples remembered that it was written, Zeal for thy house shall eat me up.18 The Jews therefore answered and said unto him, What sign showest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.20 The Jews therefore said, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou raise it up in three days?21 But he spake of the temple of his body.22 When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he spake this; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, during the feast, many believed on his name, beholding his signs which he did.24 But Jesus did not trust himself unto them, for that he knew all men,25 and because he needed not that any one should bear witness concerning man; for he himself knew what was in man.

가나의 혼인 잔치

1 사흘째 되는 날에 갈릴리 가나에 혼인 잔치가 있었다. 예수의 어머니가 거기에 계셨고, 2 예수와 그의 제자들도 그 잔치에 초대를 받았다. 3 그런데 포도주가 떨어지니, 예수의 어머니가 예수에게 말하기를 “포도주가 떨어졌다” 하였다. 4 예수께서 어머니에게 말씀하셨다. “t여자여, 그것이 나와 당신에게 무슨 상관이 있습니까? 아직도 내 때가 오지 않았습니다.” 5 그 어머니가 일꾼들에게 이르기를 “무엇이든지, 그가 시키는 대로 하세요” 하였다. 6 그런데 유대 사람의 정결 예법을 따라, 거기에는 돌로 만든 물항아리 여섯이 놓여 있었는데, 그것은 물 두세 동이들이 항아리였다. 7 예수께서 일꾼들에게 말씀하셨다. “이 항아리에 물을 채워라.” 그래서 그들은 항아리마다 물을 가득 채웠다. 8 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하시기를 “이제는 떠서, 잔치를 맡은 이에게 가져다 주어라” 하시니, 그들이 그대로 하였다. 9 잔치를 맡은 이는, 포도주로 변한 물을 맛보고, 그것이 어디에서 났는지 알지 못하였으나, 물을 떠온 일꾼들은 알았다. 그래서 잔치를 맡은 이는 신랑을 불러서 10 그에게 말하기를 “누구든지 먼저 좋은 포도주를 내놓고, 손님들이 취한 뒤에 덜 좋은 것을 내놓는데, 그대는 이렇게 좋은 포도주를 지금까지 남겨 두었구려!” 하였다. 11 예수께서 이 첫 번 t표징을 갈릴리 가나에서 행하여 자기의 영광을 드러내시니, 그의 제자들이 그를 믿게 되었다. 12 이 일이 있은 뒤에, 예수께서는 그의 어머니와 형제들과 제자들과 함께 가버나움에 내려가셔서, 거기에 며칠 동안 머물러 계셨다.

예수께서 성전을 청결하게 하시다
