Matthew 24

1 And Jesus went out from the temple, and was going on his way; and his disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple.2 But he answered and said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

3 And as he sat on the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man lead you astray.5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ; and shall lead many astray.6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that ye be not troubled: for these things must needs come to pass; but the end is not yet.7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines and earthquakes in divers places.8 But all these things are the beginning of travail.9 Then shall they deliver you up unto tribulation, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all the nations for my name’s sake.10 And then shall many stumble, and shall deliver up one another, and shall hate one another.11 And many false prophets shall arise, and shall lead many astray.12 And because iniquity shall be multiplied, the love of the many shall wax cold.13 But he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved.14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a testimony unto all the nations; and then shall the end come.

15 When therefore ye see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let him that readeth understand),16 then let them that are in Judaea flee unto the mountains:17 let him that is on the housetop not go down to take out things that are in his house:18 and let him that is in the field not return back to take his cloak.19 But woe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days!20 And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on a sabbath:21 for then shall be great tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever shall be.22 And except those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is the Christ, or, Here; believe it not.24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.25 Behold, I have told you beforehand.26 If therefore they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the wilderness; go not forth: Behold, he is in the inner chambers; believe it not.27 For as the lightning cometh forth from the east, and is seen even unto the west; so shall be the coming of the Son of man.28 Wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

29 But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:30 and then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.31 And he shall send forth his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

32 Now from the fig tree learn her parable: when her branch is now become tender, and putteth forth its leaves, ye know that the summer is nigh;33 even so ye also, when ye see all these things, know ye that he is nigh, even at the doors.34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all these things be accomplished.35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.36 But of that day and hour knoweth no one, not even the angels of heaven, neither the Son, but the Father only.37 And as were the days of Noah, so shall be the coming of the Son of man.38 For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,39 and they knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall be the coming of the Son of man.40 Then shall two man be in the field; one is taken, and one is left:41 two women shall be grinding at the mill; one is taken, and one is left.42 Watch therefore: for ye know not on what day your Lord cometh.43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken through.44 Therefore be ye also ready; for in an hour that ye think not the Son of man cometh.

45 Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath set over his household, to give them their food in due season?46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.47 Verily I say unto you, that he will set him over all that he hath.48 But if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord tarrieth;49 and shall begin to beat his fellow-servants, and shall eat and drink with the drunken;50 the lord of that servant shall come in a day when he expecteth not, and in an hour when he knoweth not,51 and shall cut him asunder, and appoint his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.

미래에 대한 예언

1 예수님이 성전에서 나가실 때 제자들이 와서 예수님께 성전 건물을 보 이려고 하자

2 예수님이 그들에게 말씀하셨다. “내가 분명히 말해 둔다. 너희가 보고 있는 이 건물이 돌 하나도 제대로 얹혀 있지 않고 다 무너져 내릴 것이다.”

3 예수님이 감람산에 올라 앉으셨을 때 제자들이 조용히 와서 물었다. “언제 이런 일이 일어나겠습니까? 또 주님이 오시고 세상이 끝날 때의 징조는 무엇입니까?”

4 그래서 예수님은 제자들에게 이렇게 대답하셨다. “너희는 아무에게도 속지 않도록 주의하라.

5 많은 사람들이 내 이름으로 와서 ‘내가 그리스도이다’ 하고 말하며 많은 사람을 속일 것이다.

6 또 난리와 전쟁 소문을 듣더라도 두려워하지 말아라. 그런 일이 반드시 일어나야 하지만 끝은 아직 아니다.

7 민족과 민족이, 나라와 나라가 서로 맞서 싸울 것이며 곳곳에 기근과 지진이 있을 것이다.

8 그러나 이 모든 것은 2고통의 시작에 지나지 않는다.

9 “그 때에 너희는 사람들에게 잡혀 고통을 당하다가 죽을 것이며 나 때문에 모든 민족에게 미움을 받을 것이다.

10 또 많은 사람들이 3믿음에서 떠나 서로 배반하고 서로 미워할 것이며

11 많은 거짓 예언자들이 일어나 많은 사람을 속일 것이다.

12 그리고 악이 점점 더하므로 많은 사람들의 사랑이 식어질 것이다.

13 그러나 끝까지 견디는 사람은 구원을 받을 것이다.

14 이 하늘 나라의 기쁜 소식이 온 세계에 전파되어 모든 민족에게 증거가 될 것이니 그제서야 세상이 끝날 것이다.

15 “그러므로 너희는 예언자 다니엘을 통해 말씀하신 대로 4멸망케 하는 흉측한 것이 거룩한 곳에 선 것을 보거든 (읽는 사람은 깨달아라)

16 그때 유대에 있는 사람들은 산으로 도망하여라.

17 지붕 위에 있는 사람은 집 안의 물건을 가지러 내려가지 말고

18 들에 있는 사람은 겉옷을 가지러 집으로 돌아가지 말아라.

19 그때 아이 밴 여자들과 젖먹이가 딸린 여자들은 불행할 것이다.

20 너희는 도망하는 일이 겨울이나 안식일에 일어나지 않도록 기도하여라.

21 세상이 창조된 이후 이제까지 없었고 앞으로도 없을 큰 고난이 그때 있을 것이다.

22 만일 이 고난의 기간을 줄이지 않았더라면 아무도 살아 남지 못할 것이다. 그러나 선택된 사람들을 위해 그 기간이 줄어들 것이다.

23 그때 누가 너희에게 ‘그리스도가 여기 있다’, ‘저기 있다’ 하여도 믿지 말아라.

24 거짓 그리스도와 거짓 예언자들이 일어나 큰 기적과 놀라운 일을 행하여 할 수만 있으면 선택된 사람들까지 속이려고 할 것이다.

25 듣거라. 내가 너희에게 미리 말해 둔다.

26 사람들이 너희에게 ‘5그리스도가 광야에 있다’ 해도 너희는 나가지 말고 ‘골방에 있다’ 해도 믿지 말아라.

27 번개가 동쪽에서 서쪽까지 번쩍이듯 6나도 그렇게 올 것이다.

28 시체가 있는 곳에는 독수리가 모여들기 마련이다.

29 “그 고난의 기간이 지나면 해가 어두워지고 달이 빛을 내지 않을 것이며 별들이 떨어지고 7천체가 뒤흔들릴 것이다.

30 그 때에 내가 온다는 징조가 하늘에 나타날 것이니 세상의 모든 민족이 통곡할 것이다. 그들은 내가 구름을 타고 능력과 큰 영광으로 오는 것을 보게 될 것이다.

31 내가 큰 나팔 소리와 함께 천사들을 보낼 것이며 그들은 하늘 이 끝에서 저 끝까지 사방에서 선택된 사람들을 모을 것이다.

32 “무화과나무의 비유를 배워라. 가지가 연해지고 잎이 돋으면 여름이 가까운 줄 알지 않느냐?

33 이와 같이 너희도 이런 일들이 일어나는 것을 보거든 8내가 문 밖에 가까이 온 줄 알아라.

34 내가 분명히 말해 둔다. 이 세대가 지나가기 전에 이 모든 일이 반드시 일어날 것이다.

35 하늘과 땅은 없어질지라도 내 말은 결코 없어지지 않을 것이다.

36 그러나 내가 오는 그 날과 시간은 아무도 모른다. 하늘의 천사들과 9아들도 모르고 오직 아버지만 아신다.

37 내가 올 때에는 세상이 노아의 시대와 같을 것이다.

38 홍수 이전 사람들은 노아가 배에 들어가는 날까지 먹고 마시고 장가가고 시집가다가

39 홍수가 나서 그들을 다 쓸어 버릴 때까지도 그런 일이 일어나리라고는 전혀 예상하지 못했다. 마찬가지로 내가 올 때에도 그럴 것이다.

40 그때 두 사람이 들에 있어도 하나는 데려가고 하나는 버려 둘 것이며

41 두 여자가 맷돌을 갈고 있어도 하나는 데려가고 하나는 버려 둘 것이다.

42 그러므로 깨어 있어라. 어느 날에 너희 주님이 오실지 너희는 알지 못한다.

43 그러나 너희는 이것을 명심하라. 만일 집 주인이 밤에 도둑이 드는 시간을 알았다면 깨어 있다가 집에 도둑이 침입하지 못하게 했을 것이다.

44 그러므로 너희도 준비하고 있어라. 생각지 않은 때에 내가 올 것이다.

45 “충성스럽고 지혜로운 종이 되어 주인이 맡긴 집안 사람들에게 제때에 양식을 나눠 줄 사람이 누구냐?

46 주인이 돌아와서 그 종이 그렇게 하는 것을 보면 그 종은 정말 행복한 사람이다.

47 내가 분명히 말하지만 주인이 그의 모든 재산을 그 종에게 맡길 것이다.

48 그러나 그 종이 악하여 속으로 ‘내 주인은 오래 있다가 오실 것이다’라고 생각하며

49 함께 있는 종들을 때리고 술 친구들과 어울려 먹고 마신다면 어떻게 되겠느냐?

50 어느 날 생각지 않은 시간에 갑자기 그 종의 주인이 와서

51 그를 사정없이 때리고 위선자들과 똑같이 심판할 것이다. 거기서 그는 통곡하며 이를 갈 것이다.”
