Matthew 8
1 And when he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.2 And behold, there came to him a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.3 And he stretched forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou made clean. And straightway his leprosy was cleansed.4 And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go, show thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
5 And when he was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,6 and saying, Lord, my servant lieth in the house sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.7 And he saith unto him, I will come and heal him.8 And the centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof; but only say the word, and my servant shall be healed.9 For I also am a man under authority, having under myself soldiers: and I say to this one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.10 And when Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.11 And I say unto you, that many shall come from the east and the west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven:12 but the sons of the kingdom shall be cast forth into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.13 And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And the servant was healed in that hour.
14 And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother lying sick of a fever.15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her; and she arose, and ministered unto him.16 And when even was come, they brought unto him many possessed with demons: and he cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all that were sick:17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying: Himself took our infirmities, and bare our diseases.
18 Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandments to depart unto the other side.19 And there came a scribe, and said unto him, Teacher, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.20 And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the heaven have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.21 And another of the disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.22 But Jesus saith unto him, Follow me; and leave the dead to bury their own dead.
23 And when he was entered into a boat, his disciples followed him.24 And behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the boat was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.25 And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Save, Lord; we perish.26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.27 And the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him?
28 And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gadarenes, there met him two possessed with demons, coming forth out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man could pass by that way.29 And behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?30 Now there was afar off from them a herd of many swine feeding.31 And the demons besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, send us away into the herd of swine.32 And he said unto them, Go. And they came out, and went into the swine: and behold, the whole herd rushed down the steep into the sea, and perished in the waters.33 And they that fed them fled, and went away into the city, and told everything, and what was befallen to them that were possessed with demons.34 And behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart from their borders.

예수께서 산에서 내려오시니, 많은 무리가 그를 따라왔다. 2 t나병 환자 한 사람이 예수께 다가와 그에게 절하면서 말하였다. “주님, 하고자 하시면, 나를 깨끗하게 해주실 수 있습니다.” 3 예수께서 손을 내밀어서 그에게 대시고 “그렇게 해주마. 깨끗하게 되어라” 하고 말씀하시니, 곧 그의 t나병이 나았다. 4 예수께서 그에게 말씀하시기를 “아무에게, 아무 말도 하지 말아라. 가서, 제사장에게 네 몸을 보이고, 모세가 명한 예물을 바쳐서, 사람들에게 증거로 삼도록 하여라” 하셨다.
백부장의 종을 고치시다
(눅 7:1-10; 요 4:43-54)

예수께서 가버나움에 들어가시니, 한 백부장이 다가와서, 그에게 간청하여 6 말하였다. “주님, 내 종이 중풍으로 집에 누워서 몹시 괴로워하고 있습니다.” 7 예수께서 그에게 말씀하셨다. “내가 가서 고쳐 주마.” 8 백부장이 대답하였다. “주님, 나는 주님을 내 집으로 모셔들일 만한 자격이 없습니다. 그저 한 마디 말씀만 해주십시오. 그러면 내 종이 나을 것입니다. 9 나도 상관을 모시는 사람이고, 내 밑에도 병사들이 있어서, 내가 이 사람더러 가라고 하면 가고, 저 사람더러 오라고 하면 옵니다. 또 내 종더러 이것을 하라고 하면 합니다.” 10 예수께서 이 말을 들으시고, 놀랍게 여기셔서, 따라오는 사람들에게 말씀하셨다. “내가 진정으로 너희에게 말한다. 나는 지금까지 이스라엘 사람 가운데서 아무에게서도 이런 믿음을 본 일이 없다. 11 내가 너희에게 말한다. 많은 사람이 동과 서에서 와서, 하늘 나라에서 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱과 함께 잔치 자리에 t앉을 것이다. 12 그러나 이 나라의 t시민들은 바깥 어두운 데로 쫓겨나서, 거기서 울며 이를 갈 것이다.” 13 그리고 예수께서 백부장에게 “가거라. 네가 믿은 대로 될 것이다.” 하고 말씀하셨다. 바로 그 시각에 그 종이 나았다.
많은 사람을 고치시다

예수께서 베드로의 집에 들어가셔서, 그의 장모가 열병으로 앓아 누운 것을 보셨다. 15 예수께서 그 여자의 손에 손을 대시니, 열병이 떠나가고, 그 여자는 일어나서, 예수께 시중을 들었다. 16 날이 저물었을 때에, 마을 사람들이 귀신 들린 사람을 많이 예수께로 데리고 왔다. 예수께서는 말씀으로 귀신을 쫓아내시고, 또 병자를 모두 고쳐 주셨다. 17 이리하여 예언자 이사야를 시켜서 하신 말씀이 이루어졌다.

우리의 병약함을 떠맡으시고,
우리의 질병을 짊어지셨다.”
예수를 따르려면

예수께서, 무리가 자기 옆에 둘러 서 있는 것을 보시고, 제자들에게 건너편으로 가자고 말씀하셨다. 19 율법학자 한 사람이 다가와서 예수께 말하였다. “선생님, 나는 선생님이 가시는 곳이면, 어디든지 따라가겠습니다.” 20 예수께서 그에게 말씀하셨다. “여우도 굴이 있고, 하늘을 나는 새도 보금자리가 있으나, t인자는 머리 둘 곳이 없다.” 21 또 제자 가운데 한 사람이 말하였다. “주님, 내가 먼저 가서, 아버지의 장례를 치르도록 허락하여 주십시오.” 22 예수께서 그에게 말씀하셨다. “너는 나를 따라오너라. 죽은 사람의 장례는 죽은 사람들이 치르게 두어라.”
풍랑을 잔잔하게 하시다
(막 4:35-41; 눅 8:22-25)

예수께서 배에 오르시니, 제자들이 그를 따라갔다. 24 그런데 바다에 큰 풍랑이 일어나서, 배가 물결에 막 뒤덮일 위험에 빠지게 되었다. 그런데 예수께서는 주무시고 계셨다. 25 제자들이 다가가서 예수를 깨우고서 말하였다. “주님, 살려 주십시오. 우리가 죽게 되었습니다.” 26 예수께서 그들에게 “왜들 무서워하느냐? 믿음이 적은 사람들아!” 하고 말씀하시고 나서, 일어나 바람과 바다를 꾸짖으시니, 바다가 아주 잔잔해졌다. 27 사람들은 놀라서 말하였다. “이분이 누구이기에, 바람과 바다까지도 그에게 복종하는가?”
귀신 들린 두 사람을 고치시다
(막 5:1-20; 눅 8:26-39)

예수께서 건너편 t가다라 사람들의 지역에 가셨을 때에, 귀신 들린 사람 둘이 무덤 사이에서 나오다가, 예수와 마주쳤다. 그들은 너무나 사나워서, 아무도 그 길을 지나다닐 수 없었다. 29 그런데 그들이 외쳐 말하였다. “하나님의 아들이여, 당신이 우리와 무슨 상관이 있습니까? 때가 되기도 전에, 우리를 괴롭히려고 여기에 오셨습니까?” 30 마침 거기에서 멀리 떨어진 곳에, 놓아 기르는 큰 돼지 떼가 있었다. 31 귀신들이 예수께 간청하였다. “우리를 쫓아내시려거든, 우리를 저 돼지들 속으로 들여보내 주십시오.” 32 예수께서 “가라” 하고 명령하시니, 귀신들이 나와서 돼지들 속으로 들어갔다. 그 돼지 떼가 모두 바다 쪽으로 비탈을 내리달아서, 물 속에 빠져 죽었다. 33 돼지를 치던 사람들이 도망 가서, 읍내에 들어가, 이 모든 일과 귀신 들린 사람들에게 일어난 일을 알렸다. 34 온 읍내 사람들이 예수를 만나러 나왔다. 그들은 예수를 보고, 자기네 지역을 떠나 달라고 간청하였다.
